  • There's something about this song....

Something beautiful that will always linger in my head and bring me back to this melody... I have felt both extreme happiness and extreme sorrow by listening to this......

    I really love this song

  • this piece is greater than anything beethoven ever created. the melody is divinely beautiful.

  • Heard this song a long time ago in Megaman Legends 2 but never knew who the artists was, until today that is.

  • jeez just wanted to press like! ...had to open gmail yahoo youtube facebook account, any ways i pressed like and get to comment ;)

  • Bach - the only classical musician who reaches me.

  • Comment removed

  • @NumeroUnoUberMoose He, Mozart, Beethoven, and Handel are great, but only Bach reaches me on emotional, subconscious level.

  • Yuri Gagarin dropped me here

  • se7en brought me here

  • if the "perfect music" exists, i think this is it.no one note to add, no one to take off.Just close your eyes and travel.

  • REALLY! how did someone dislike this... f*in' trolls... SE7EN !!! one of the best movies EVER!, and definitely had... well probably THE BEST soundtrack... any movie that can incorporate JS Bach, AND NIN - in close succession is incredible in my book... good choice in style of artwork shown as well (thanks BenFigueroa04, great upload sir)

  • @SlyTheMongoose That is a strange comparison. One artist that uses music to praise God and inspire men and another that uses it to degrade God and Man (even naming his music after the spikes used to crucify Jesus.) That is a strange comparison.

  • Yep, looked it up after catching it in the movie "se7en." Gorgeous. Ordered a $40 SACD with 3 CDs of Bach including this and it was a waste - nowhere near as perfect as this version.

  • se7ven!

  • I like the harmony and brilliant tune of this song and WHY THE FUCK SOMEBODY HIT DISAGREE BUTTON??? WHATA FUCK??

  • @Slezi2007 lmao disagree button

  • Some tears falling.

  • i like this better than the later air on g string

  • bach is truly a genius

  • Well rendered piece of music. Sounds more spiritual and sublime making one to feel the Almighty's presence.

  • I'm now dead, Leaving the earth, good bye every one

  • yes, this is, by far, the best rendition of air that I have yet found on youtube. the quality is quite good, but like I said, MORE VOLUME. Also, a different background image, or a "slideshow" of some sort would have been preferable

  • the volume could be louder (without distortion) however

  • finally a version with the proper tempo. it supposed to be played ADAGIO you dumb fucks. this is how it is supposed to be. I fucking hate shitty "interpretations." this is perfect, and even the accentuation is very graceful and gentle, which is certainly the way it was intended

  • whos the idiot doesnt like this peace?

  • Superb. Marinner is perhaps my favorite Bach conductor.

  • Dieses Stück wird zu meiner Hochzeit laufe (sofern die irgendwann mal stattfindet ;-) Oder aber zur Beerdigung *g*

  • HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

  • Who looked this up after watching Se7en?

  • @md79x Ah, the scene with Morgan Freeman in the library. Be grateful for the internet. I saw the movie when I was seventeen and at the time didn't know the piece, and, lacking any means to identify it, was mad with curiosity until I heard it on a classical radio station three months later.

  • @md79x meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • is this a full symphony orchestra?

  • I never knew the name of this classical piece until i recently watched an old movie ' SE7EN ' and was able to finally identify it in the ending credits. I don't care what the future holds for mankind, i just know that Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Handel's music etc will be thoroughly enjoyed until the last of the last generations

  • Makes me want to cry. =)

  • Beautiful music. a quote by bach: The end of all music should be refreshment of human spirit and the Glory of God.

  • classical musif 4 life !! its beutiful..

  • Hay 1 persona que de verdad tiene una nula capacidad de entender lo que es hermoso

  • thanks for uploading.

Do you know the name of the person who painted the picture you used for the background of this video? It's beautiful.

  • @KubotA0

It looks like a Dutch barroque painting..maybe Jacob van Ruisdael?.

  • @smruizp It's a American romanticist-painting. Thomas Cole is the author.

  • @BenFigueroa04

Gracias! recién noto que eres de Stgo tb!

SALUDOS! ¿cómo llegaste a esta pintura?

  • @smruizp Estaba buscando pintores de principios del Siglo XIX y de fines del XVIII, llegando así a Cole

  • Ive been listening to this song for years but never knew the name till se7en. Bach is a genius.

  • Megaman Legends Museum building...

  • oh truely amazing

  • se7en

  • Divine piece of music but the interpretation is listless in this case...it should be played with so much more energy and gusto !

  • After listening to such magnificent piece of music one starts to believe in something divine. Because it IS heavenly music.

  • @Gioma771

Bach wrote at the beginning of each sacred piece J.J. for Jesu Juva(Jesus help) and at the end S.D.G for Soli Deo Gloria(to God alone the glory). Although this is not a sacred piece Bach brought his strong Christin beliefs into almost all his work. This is truly a Divine piece.

  • @Gioma771

What about the fact that it was written by a man?

  • @VincentGecko

Yes, it was written by man, but by no simple man :) That man had something divine in him (well, at least in my opinion).

  • Comment removed

  • @Gioma771 That's just "confirmation bias" giving you the illusion that your hypothesis is confirmed, trust me. Out of millions of sperms, Bach could have very well not been born. This accident of birth, was a very fortunate one for us. And without belief in the supernatural, we can realize this and appreciate even more the chance that we have to be able to enjoy it. This music is absolutely beautiful. You can ask why, but your question is flawed. Not all questions starting with "why" make sense.

  • @finalfansix

I don't understand what your point is. You're trying to prove Bach's music has nothing to do with the supernatural? Fine, it's your right to think so, and by the way, this is not something anyone can prove or disprove. I just wrote how I FELT about this piece of music, however, I'm not trying to PROVE anything, got it? So, I don't intend to try to prove the supernatural nature of this music. To me it IS divine, it's as simple as that :)

  • YEP........................................

  • absolutely magnificent.

  • Beautiful...

  • Nobody like Bach. This is exquisite.

  • brutal

  • Give the strings some respect! This is magical and soothing!

  • this is from seven, when there in the libraray, never forget it since the first time i heard it, which is when that movie came out, crazy how music can do that to u

  • @phizfrail yeah and it's performed by the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester- It's kind of funny, why he took this Version- Hoch Lebe Stuttgart!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This version is a bit to slow for me, it should bounce ever so slightly.

  • @MrMarkhughes22 tho it is beautiful...I agree it should bounce a little more. it is a little slow

  • Hermosisima cancion.

    Is Beautiful. No more words.

  • Hermosisima cancion.

    Is Beautiful. No more words.

  • muito bom

  • excellent

  • excellent

  • Way too slow. But it's not only about tempo. Sorry to say that Marriner's approach to baroque and classical composers is totally outdated.....sorry because i used to be a big fan when i was younger....

  • only furtwangler's recording match the slow tempo here. Excelletn!

  • I thought it was much too slow. I love the way this piece freezes time when it's played in the usually used tempo, but this simply *kills* time! However it is nice to see someone try a different approach than the normal one, that takes guts^^

  • J. S. Bach siempre, siempre, favorece interpretaciones polimorfas y subjetivas.
