Your videos to these enjoyable Garage bands are very well thought out & produced, Great & rare pictures really put you back in the era of the times...Thanks!
Thanks for all the nice comments and views. This is still one of my favorites to listen to and watch. This song should have been monster but as many of the songs on my channel, looked over and forgotten gems.
I traveled with this band on and off for two years. Married the keyboardist (in the military jacket) Bob Grady. None I know of went on to "bigger success" in the music world. Some still play.
So glad to see this song still up as it has been over a year since I have viewed it and as of yet have not been able to purchase it as I travel so much!!! As crazy as the world is,it's nice to see some things do not change to much. Yeah baby, lock and load... it,s go time
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
Is this the B-side of "It's a-Happening"? It's amazing how much great music came from the garage/"amateur" bands of the '65-68 period, and how there always seems to be new stuff being discovered from that era. Thanks for posting!
Like this.........knowing the year and the sounds of that period VERY well, it generates memories........some not so pleasant, but all part of the same equation.......dreams DID some true and some "all time highs" followed.
@bixbyglaser Absolutely.Oldies radio plays the same old tired slop, when they have an untapped goldmine of great stuff.Thank God for postings like this one.
@ted2064 Ted, what year was this? Did any of you guys go onto bigger success? I have never heard this, and really like it. Do you still play? Thanks Joel in Tucson
all the so "great bands" have stolen from the unknown - this is reality - all other conflicts - lets go ... Stones, Beatles, Pink Floyd - all have stolen from unknown bands... the history of rock music is a history of stolen boys, managers & many other bad ideas
Thanks for saving and sharing this tasty piece from one of the most creative periods in music history. I hadn't heard of these guys before, even though I own Lothar and the Hand People, Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies, Fifty Foot Hose, Fever Tree, Sacred Mushroom, White Noise, etc....somehow they escaped me. Thanks for the introduction.
I was listening to this last night on the "Filling the Gap" compilation CD and it's become one of my favorite songs. I didn't realize that this same group did "It's a Happening". This tune is gorgeous!
Nice song of theirs that I hadn't heard before. Does anyone have a clean copy of their song, "Never let Go"?. I have it in mediocre shape.Maybe I'll get around to trying to digitally clean it up some day.... thanks for the post- Peace....
I was the lead guitar player of The Magic Mushrooms. This was the b side of Municipal Water Maintenance Man, which was our 3rd release. Personally, I think this was the best song we released.
Wow! i keep finding former members of bands that check in every now and then. This really was a great song. I'll do my best to keep it out here. If you have some of your other releases, please share.
That's a good idea, however at this time I don't think it would be possible. It would take a lot of time and money to do it properly. But, I never rule anything out.
Not too my knowledge, it was a trippy song called Maintenance Municipal Water Man according to the sources I found. But they agree with you that this side was the better cut.
Yes they are/were good and like most of the garagebands from the 60's, were left holding the bag while record labels and management took their royalties.

Wow, the sound of those organ arpeggios at 0:51 2:02 and 2:40 is downright otherworldly. I wonder if it's a Vox or a Farfisa.

It was a Vox. I was the lead guitar player in the band.
