I'm currently reading a book on this subject. Clean coal actually does more to INCREASE rather than DECREASE heating. Because rain needs small particles to condense on to create rain, the exhaust from burning coal creates these particulates, whereas "clean coal technology" removes these particulates. Dude, CO2 IS a greenhouse, but so is H2O (water). There is debate about the data collected from the surface monitoring stations. Some were in farm land years ago, but are now near mini-malls. Asphalt tends to be near mini-malls, and tends to heat more than farmland or forests do. Since cars tend to be near mini-malls and emit CO2, the heating here is not a result of the CO2.

And the atmosphere is complex and must include the troposhpere.
