I have a question, does anybody know where can I find the chords used in gypsy jazz played with the 3 notes, because I only find in tabs the normal chords, and we know rythmic guitar only uses 3 notes at least.
thanks for the info, ninja & eduardo.. I'v found out that selmer has closed since 1960 & there are only lessthan a thousand pc in the market now... however, they are selling the blue prints of every model they've designed...
It's a gypsy guitar. It's usually design and made by a "guitare maker" (don't know the name in english, in french it's a "luthier"). Of course you can have one in a store but the first solution is better.
Cost: 500€ (~420$) almost the first price i know to get a good gypsy guitar

Very well done. Gypsy Jazz Manouche is great to listen to. Someday I hope to play it. Thanks.

so the strumming pattern is up down(1 beat) ,down(2 beaT) ?
If we look at his right hand movement it seems he make
down up (first beat) , down (2 beat) .
Anyone has this impression looking at the video?
I have tried both but the second pattern (down up ,down) is real tricky and sound bad to me .
Thanks for support .

Regal1800 3 years ago

Isn't the first stroke meant to be a raking downstroke, and the second stroke a "whip"?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
if you were to right it out in a score you can and it isnt closer than a grace note

nice work, very well delivered, this should help a lot of players interested in the manouche/Django style.
