@PBS I have only watched one show and I am just... grateful? I will be waiting for Season 2 as well. I'm hoping for way more episodes. Also, where can I find a complete list of the british shows? Secrets of the Manor House is absolutely outstanding! Thank you PBS.
Next three episodes will be based upon the most famous three Sherlock Holmes stories: A Scandal in Bohemia, Hounds of the Baskervilles, and The Final Problem/Reichenbach Falls.
@sherry759 Awesome! Thank you! I love the series so much and I have to try and keep my mind off it so I don't think about the long wait, but it'll be worth it! :)
@ilurvemv Are there any other websites you can watch it on without downloading it or paying? Because it's going off of the PBS website pretty soon, and I don't own the DVD, and I might go into withdrawal without it! :'(
My new favorite show!! I was really skeptical when I heard it was set in the 21st century, but I saw one, and seriously, it's even better than the movie!
terrific show. It's amazing to me how they how this made this updated version completely plausible. Sherlock Holmes and Conan coming back-life is great!
This was great! I totally loved it and can't wait until next Sunday. It's nice to have a great show to look forward to now that "Mad Men's" done for the year. Even if "Sherlock" is only three episodes long.
Also, I'd like to say that as taxpayer, I wouldn't mind it at all if PBS added "The Thick of It" to its lineup of BBC shows. Uncensored, please!!!
At first I was a bit uneasy- it seems as if everything is getting remade these days, and not always for the better.
But this....this looks absolutely brilliant! I have always wondered if Holmes simply using deductive reasoning would still work in today's world. Well, it looks like it can, and still stay true to the original feel of his character.
Bravo BBC! Please, keep this fantastic work going-- 3 episodes has only whet our interest!
hnngghhhh. I've been reduced to incoherence. I've already rewatched this series too many times for it to be considered anything else but creepy, and NOW I CAN WATCH IT AGAIN. :D LOL omg what is my life. D:
This is wonderful! My family and I can't wait to see it on a full-size screen. Does anyone know why many actors playing Holmes seem to be required to have names that sound like stock characters in a Dickens' novel? (Benedict Cumberbatch, Basil Rathbone...)
Add me to those who have see it online and can't wait for the actual airing on October 24. A brillian reimagining of the Holmes icon for the 21st Century. Brett was Holmes as Doyle wrote him, but this new version cleans off the dust,
@animelovingfreak, if you're in the US you can watch Sherlock on PBS's website. Go to PBS's official website (you'll have to Google, youtube won't let me post a link) and click on 'watch video' and you should see the episodes listed at the bottom.
already saw it but that will not stop me for seeing without desperately searching the computer for it and painfully bending over to view it on the computer
i.ve watched already and its great really its well done and a good twist, 3 episodes of 90 min. and it will have a second "season" moffat said. its out there if you cant wait.
Have seen all three episodes & am over the moon about the series (even though ep 2 had weak writing). Also thrilled to hear the writers/producers are currently in talks for more episodes. A must-see for any fan of The Great Detective & the folks in charge hold both the characters & Conan Doyle's stories in very high regard, as should be.
Wonderful chemistry, slick styling--lots of humor & references to the Holmes canon. Seeing the momentous meeting of Holmes & Watson is a rare treasure.
An intriguing concept bringing Sherlock Holmes into the present day, though somewhat of a gamble. It was first done back in the 1940's with the Rathbone-Bruce series to great success, but then a failed TV pilot aired in 1990 called "221B" (where Holmes awakened in the present from a cryogenic freeze). I will be curious to see if the series still uses plot elements from the classic stories. The actor portraying Sherlock is definitely good.
@doctorw2: that actor (Benedict Cumberbatch) was offered the part of the 11th Doctor, and was in talks with David Tennant over it, but ultimately turned it down. And the current Doctor, Matt Smith, was considered for the part of John Watson, but they thought he was "too barmy". So he got the part of the Doctor instead.
Glad to have this coming to America. A wonderful, tongue-in-cheek modern adaption of Sherlock Holmes. Cumberbatch and Freeman both work well together and Cumberbatch is a great young Holmes. I'm hopeful it'll be as big a hit as in the UK.
Oh! Yes, yes yes! I cannot wait for this! This is going to be brilliant!! Something to look forward to in the autumn! :D Thank you so much PBS, I bloody love you!
Oh wow Martin Freeman with Steven Moffat attached? I've never heard of Benedict Cumberbatch but this all looks really good and I can't wait for it to air!
