@roseycheaks123 Looks like a saddle. They might be getting him used to the saddle and just letting him run out so he figures out that no matter what he does it won't come off and he needs to learn to deal with it.

His ears are upright and alert. He's doing it just for the heck of doing it. Were he expressing some sort of discomfort, he would have them pinned back. You also have to keep in mind that he is a young stallion, they do stuff like this!

i just bought a paint/thoroughbred cross, and he thinks he's a fancy friesian or something. he moves exactly like that, with a very exagerated tuck in his legs and very upright. it's quite funny actually.

first of all thiskittenhasclaws : its " pole " and second off... this might just be his first time in a pad/ girth/ side reins so they are trying to get him used to it..... i agree that it should be done on a lunge line or in a chute but if you do not know the case you cant really ever tell... haha he is GORGOUS!

Not to sure if ur trying to train him to jump or do poll work either way he shouldnt have side rains on. also it might help if you built a shoot along one side of the arena instead if just letting him run willy nilly round the arena. and if its poll work there should be more than 2 polls or he will do as he is doing and just jump over them... also best to have a lunge line on him for poll work/jumping and as he improves then let him off to do loose schooling. good luck

i have to disagree. he was not jumping. he was bucking himself over a pole on the ground. unsafe jump, and unecessarily high. if they were trying to work with him, then he is being extremely naughty and he needs to be corrected. if they got him out to play, then thats ok.

funny, when we get our camera out, and start taking photo's of our pure Friesian, he likes to buck like that....and he doesn't even have anything on. He's not even had tack on or a rider.

Looks to me he is very young and just needs to be gentled.

hes a gorgeous stallion,i also hav a freisian stallion( check Friesian stallion-Romeo he's the 2 y/o)has he had a bad experience wit a rider in the past? maybe with a crop/spurs?or if that is playin it mite b gd nt 2 allow him this behaviour incase u hav 2 get close 2 him in another situation + he may not respond in a behaved mannor but by bucking/kicking you instead? especially if he thinks it mit b a form of play he is aloud 2 do.He has beautiful movement and looks a big boy,hw tall is he?

He bucks when he is loose or when you lunge him usig the whip .The rest of the time has very good manners :)

And yes, he is quite tall. I don´t know precisely ,but he must be about 169 cm because he is far more tall than my own Friesian stallion, who is 164 .

You can compare both horses in my videos. Both are 4 y.o.

If you search "bull-headed friesian" you can see the two stallions together. The first one is the tallest (my sister's).Mine is the second one.

The knee action is the natural gait of the horse.

Thanks for the advice and the comments : ) He uses to buck when he is loose in the arena(?) and someone is close to him.

He had his mouth checked 3 months ago by the dentist, and also had a complete veterinarian checkup short time ago.
