Nice video! The strike was about a half-mile away I think. (5 seconds between lightning and thunderclap is about a mile, and this thunder was about 2.5 seconds after the bolt).
Also, if you use Windows Movie Maker, there is an option take a still shot of a video on that program.
doesnt strike ur roof....its alot farther away... count the seconds between the flash and thunder... 1 km = 3 seconds, 1 mile = 5 seconds..thunder in ur vid comes after 1 sec... if the bolt struck ur roof the thunder would come instantly and u would be injured
Excellent, my new YouTube-Tstorm bud! awesome CG bolt...probably striking some 3000 feet away from flash to it's gorgeous spine-chilling thunderclap! Amazing since HI averages only 5 to 10 Tstorm days per year... southern RI--some 25. TYSVM for your seeing my 7/28/89-monster YouTube Tstorm video, BTW!
Itz from 2007 and it haz 2007 views

note that the storms at my place only happen late April to late September, so don't assume it is year round

in terms of lightning close by my place I have seen 9 in 2005, 23 in 2006, and 11 in 2007.
14 of the 23 strikes in 2006 were in one storm on aug 22
