as you see the tunning is diferent than a 7 strings (it also happens if you compare de D dropped tunning to standard E, where the 6th string is the only one tunned down one whole step)so the positions of the scales are different, so some scales are easer to play in droped positions, an so others are easer to play in standard.

it's because machine head actually tune their instruments with a tuner set to 436 Hz or summin. in essence they tune between drop B and drop C. not an easy tuning to find.
