@TiKondaRoga There is a modified 2011 STi in the 7s around the nurburgring. There isn't a stock STi in the 7's though. The CTS-V is faster than the STi in all forms of performance stock for stock but its also $25,000 more.
The CTS-V is a monster. A powerhouse that many will agree, has beaten the M5... however, this swap is crazy and deserves respect. This doesn't mean ALL IS300s are like this, but this specific setup moves crazy. Much respect. Both cars are great.

@swillamanilla the motor was built for boost. Most high powered cars use power adders. Not everyone wants a 7L V8 and doing a GTE swap is extremely cheap for an IS300 because it shares the same motor as the 2JZ.

Used 1st generation CTS-V is less than $20K folks. You may be thinking of the new/current V that runs $59K+. There are a lot of relatively low priced modifications [intake] that can be made tot he LS6 engine and it's a beast. The car handles better than the IS and is obviously faster in a straight line as well: there are plenty of sub-12 qtr times with less than $4K in mods.

@nickv11763 I'd agree to a point. For street use, a 5.0 GT (Ford) or an LS series engine is def the way to go!! No waiting 5 years for boost to kick in. I guess the big point for me is that a nice IS300 will set you back 8-10K w/ a turbo system, 6K installed in Orlando. Other than that, V-8 for me.
@nickv11763 5.0 is not a waste. It will be easy to get at least 750hp from it with just power adders. Such as a single turbo with built internals. Very affordable too.

Not when you factor in the price of the mods to the IS. You can get a used CTS-V well under 20K. Take a used IS, and factor in all the mods you need, and it's not as lopsided as you say.
Now buy a V, and put the same money in engine mods as the IS has, and see how lopsided it is.

@caddyman07 There are videos here of Supras making 800+ on the stock bottom end and running them at the track. My personal car made 787rwhp on the stock bottom end and should be making a little over 800 after its done. LS motors are great too though.

Used 1st generation CTS-V is less than $20K folks. You may be thinking of the new/current V that runs $59K+. There are a lot of relatively low priced modifications [intake] that can be made tot he LS6 engine and it's a beast. The car handles better than the IS and is obviously faster in a straight line as well: there are plenty of sub-12 qtr times with less than $4K in mods.

@wildbloodydragon the only reason its a different compression ratio is because you want high compression NA but if your forced inducted the extra air makes up for the lost so you want low compression.but as for the head? wrong. the ge in 2jz ge.g means perfroamnce heads from what i understand there the same head.and the internals? im not sure about those eaither.

@nickv11763 I'd agree to a point. For street use, a 5.0 GT (Ford) or an LS series engine is def the way to go!! No waiting 5 years for boost to kick in. I guess the big point for me is that a nice IS300 will set you back 8-10K w/ a turbo system, 6K installed in Orlando. Other than that, V-8 for me.

Not when you factor in the price of the mods to the IS. You can get a used CTS-V well under 20K. Take a used IS, and factor in all the mods you need, and it's not as lopsided as you say.
Now buy a V, and put the same money in engine mods as the IS has, and see how lopsided it is.

@sparky20100 The design and development of any car takes around 5 years. If this was a timed contest Cadillac would throw a supercharger on their outgoing CTS-V at the time and beat the living hell out of the M5.
However the goal was to make an all new CTS-V. Not beating an M5 as fast as possible.
If in two years BMW beats the CTS-V, I assure you, it has taken them at least 5 years to get that car from the designing board to production.

Yes, I am serious. 99% of them are bone stock and stock ones are SLOW AS HELL. There are a couple of fast IS300s out there but not that many. This one in the video was very fast I will say that. I like your "except twin turbo supras"...haha. Anyone knows that the fast Supras are the single turbo mods anyway. YOU need to think before you write.

what the hell are you talking about....how can their be fast ones and slow ones...they all came from the factory with the same HP numbers (215),,, its just weather or not ones manual or auto...and weather or not someone modified it... its almost the same motor as the supra....they are pretty quick either way you look at it.....fourdoor with balls

I see at least 10 different IS300's a week if im out on the road everyday. at least., most of the time its more.. and they are all stock being driven around by middle aged people! its not a rare car anymore that only serious tuners buy. my friend has a stage 2 shifter and an intake on his. That is the most tuning ive seen on an IS300 out of like thousands that ive seen. your argument has nothing to stand on.
