Does anyone know which guitar he is playing. It´s a Martin Dreadnought obviously, but I have got no idea which model it is exactly. Sorry for my English, I´m German...
I grew up in Nevada & moved to Oregon just like Willy. Their songs about little Nevada towns and the seedy side of life are the best I've been hearing in the last 10 or so years
Was introduced to RF / WV the other night by a mate of mine, a musician. He said listen to this. It was Wellhorn yard. I think we both sat there in amazement. Played it again. One of those rare moments that only occur so little in one's life. A song that changes the way you see things around you. Are we able to see the song above mentioned on YT yet? I think you'd be really well received in Oz. I guess it depends on sales of your albums. Here's hoping.
Actually, I discovered Richmond Fontaine after having read Willy Vlautin's excellent debut novel The Motel Life. Since then, they've become one of my favorite bands.
The new novel Northline that was released recently is a great read too. Allison's adventures stayed with me for days.
Good news for those wanting a movie of Willy's writing. The rights to The Motel Life have been bought by Guillermo Arriaga (Babel, 21 Grams) and Willy is writing the screenplay for it. I've also read he recently sold the rights for Northline to be made into a movie too. I only hope that the movies do his work justice and get him the recognition he thoroughly deserves.
looking forward to the next gig in Leeds UK. Always a highlight of the year. I could listen to music like this for ever, raw and unprocessed talent. Wish more bands would do this
Dear Willy, saw you a couple of days ago in Norderstedt and I liked the show very much. Started reading the book. Hope to see you and the boys again very soon. Your friend Pete.
pure genius...I love him, great lyrics and very orginal way of singing them. RF the best band in the usa.

Willy sings two songs in this video: The Kid From Belmont Street and Capsized - both from the fantastic album Thirteen Cities.
