Remember all of Sam's special equipment (the scales, the glass frame, the clashing bowling balls, etc)? His extreme maths skills? His extensive knowledge that even William Bell would come to him for, whenever he needed advice? His mysterious knowledge of Peter's relationship with AltOlivia?
@mmplcfl I've noticed that as well. I'm guessing since the ratings aren't that great, in order to keep the show alive they need product placement like that. Same thing happened to Terminator SCC in its 2nd season. Even though its not ideal, it might be necessary to keep Fringe going.
One of my fav. episodes thus far..I *loved* it. I bust out laughing when Walter yelled "Ostrich, you're a genius!!" :D I am SUPEREXCITED for the finale, even tho imma miss the hell out of this show. (and ThinkHero reviews! Thankfully True Blood starts again soon..) ;) Thanks again guys, see you next week!
He kinda looked like John Connor at the end even to the coat, loved it. A really good ep after arguably a few dodgy ones. Hope next week goes out with a bang.
I don't know how I feel about this episode. I mean, as a regular episode of Fringe, I'd think it's cool... but as a season finale. I don't know yet. It feels a tad cliche for Fringe. I have, by the way, converted two of my friends to watching Fringe!
I am from Canada and I think we got a different promo. This promo Peter says to Walter "I've seen doomsday, and it is worse then you can possibly imagine." It is like he has come back from the future. Walternet also tells Peter that he can stop this. I think the future will only be in this episode.
They definitely need to declare season 4 the last season. They'll be taking too much of a risk if they decide to not set it up as the last.
I would think that they would want to end the show on their own terms, rather than be forced off the air. It also would raise some questions over whether or not the showrunner's priority was on the integrity of the show or on the money and attention they would get out of it.
Next week actually reminds me more of Heroes' 'Five Years Gone'.
Not sure how exactly I feel about an extended flash-forward, of a kind, being the finale. It's more something that one sees in the running to the finale.
@FringeLatino That was used to limit the electromagnetic discharge from the machine. Even so, they couldn't have placed that on either - nothing, not a pen nor Peter, could touch the machine - they were thrown back, so there'd be know what they could implement any kind of boxing at all.
@FringeLatino "Oh, because this is sci-fi, of course they can put on a sheath that reduces electrical discharge on a machine that has a shield up preventing anything from making contact with it, in order to move the machine 100 miles".
Why don't I just stab an apple with an antenna to make a bomb? Makes sense, after all.
@Damon242 yeah maybe, but this one little mistake is nothing when you loo at the hole third season, this season has been awesome! You can denied that :)
@FringeLatino as good as this season has been (and the first half of it I consider the best of the series, second half didn't live up to it at all), there have been a tonne of plot holes, some blatantly obvious.
Above all,the issue that has troubled me the most is how the ending to 'Reciprocity' with Peter being "weaponized" was completely forgotten about for the rest of the season.
I'm not digging this finale trio as much as a did the finale duo (Over There part 1 and 2) last year.
In some areas it just seems rushed. Perhaps it's all the lack of set up from the Bell-Olivia arc.
Also, I was really disappointed how they completely undid everything they had set up with Sam Weiss in the first ten minutes. Once he explained his backstory and opened the box, he just floated away until Broyles literally just told him he couldn't come.
Saw some amber in the promo. Looks like the fringe events haven't stopped happening and now they're worse than ever! So I guess that's why fringe is militarized. Wouldn't it be ironic if in destroying the other universe, ours became more like theirs?
And don't say it'll be the last season! You're making me cry.
If that is true that Walternate made the jump to the future bc he was in the same place as the maching, then that means FEAUXOlivia and brandonate made it too, b.c Feaux was locked in the basement!. SO they'd both be there too

Glad all of that was explained...

Whats up with all the product placement? Theres been ford focuses and tablet pcs sticking out like sore thumbs. It ruins the story.

It's terrible that good sci fi can't survive - I will miss Fringe when it disappears.

How did they move the machine to Liberty Island?
The machine rejected anything that touched it - sent it flying!
So how exactly did they manage to move it more than a hundred miles?

@Damon242 a wizard did it

@Damon242 with the faraday box, I think that's the name, they protected like Walternate did in the AU :)

@Damon242 hahahha, you know what I think that they can touch the center of the machine, I think it's save if you touch around it :) maybe, lol
And i told you that as a joke, don't get mad at me :) lol
FringeLatino 9 months ago
@FringeLatino Wasn't mad, but I am frustrated that the Fringe writers overlooked this; they contradicted what they introduced in the same episode.
Can't touch any part of it - otherwise what would be the point?

I wonder if the coin Peter has is the exact one that the Observers hands to Walter in 'There's more than one of everything'.
It was never established that the coin the Observer has was the one seen in 'Peter'. It was just an identical coin.

The finale looks so weird, hope it's good.
I keep seeing the promos and keep thinking that it feels like an addition to 'Brown Betty' and 'Lysergic Acid Diethylamide'.
Some of the characters even look like their 'Brown Betty' counterparts!

How exactly did the activate the machine on the other side with the blood? Did they just splash it on the machine, or something?
