The cool thing is that this is the SAME Ganondorf from young Link's OoT game. This was before he was able to conquer Hyrule because young Link turned him in. This had been speculated by allot of people but has only been officially stated only a few weeks ago. It is almost as if you are cleaning up young Link's dirty work lol.

@SamyDtheGamer about 2 or 3 months ago or so, Nintendo released an official timeline on a small book. The book, as far as I know, has only been released in Japan at the moment. It tells the story of the links and ganons in detail. Look it up 'official zelda timeline' on youtube and you will see people discussing this book and its timeline from Nintendo.

@SamyDtheGamer The official timeline was unveiled in the Hyrule Historia. It's not the same Link, as TP takes place 100 years after the child timeline of OoT. When Link was sent back in time he informed Zelda of Ganondorf's plans and Ganon was arrested. He got the Triforce of Power because when Link was sent at the end of OoT back he possessed the Triforce of Courage, which destabilized the Triforce and caused it to fragment.

So the sages sent him to the Twilight Realm (where Midna's people were), and later in the game Ganondorf says that Midna's people's anguish was his nourishment... Kinda odd to think how if the Sages had not sent him to the Twilight Realm that the people of Earth would die, but since they did others suffered, making him strong enough to return, making it a lose/lose decision.

i have been thinking about what i said and it should be called the legend of zelda the revenge of ganondorf.it takes place after twilight princess.zelda & link are married . the game starts with a battle between the light world & the twilight world.[minda is on light side] you start out as link and ganondorf kicks his ass. then minda and hurt badly. then zelda and she uses her light arrow. she knocks out ganondorf he is put in dungeon. link & minda are taken to doctor. thats the begining.

youre ALL wrong. these sages arent related to the sages of ocarina of time... in this timeline, saria and the others are never made sages. these are the people who are eventually made sages to make up for their absence. hence why they have no identities.

whats happening here is that, at the very end of Ocarina of Time, ink warns Zelda that Ganondorf is going to take over Hyrule and so he is executed. In this timeline Ganondorf never took over, Link never found the Master Sword, etc.

That's why people in Twilight Princess keep talking about some legendary hero (The Hero of Time, Ocarina Link). Link is just some Ordon Village bumpkin with the same name. The game relied too much on the fact that seasoned Zelda players already knew who he is. 97% of the game focused on Zant, and prior to popping up at the end, Ganondorf was basically just namedropped once or twice and there was practically no buildup for the "final showdown" with him.
