@SOFAirborn Jumping down from large distances onto concrete destroys the legs, I live with leg pain everyday from jumping off of everything, Mostly skateboarding killed them from kneeing the concrete so much.
I also have knee problem, I play basketball a lot, actually when I run, jump my knee is fine, but the real problem is when I take a rest for at least a minute or so, that is the time I feel the pain in both my knees, but when I started to play again it takes 2 to 3 runs back and forth the court, the pain is gone but again when I rest and stop playing basketball I feel the pain again and it will last upto 2 days! i don't know the reason, i dont remember any injury caused for my knee to feel pain
I injured my knee and waited for 3 hours in the hospital to get an x-ray and then waited some more for them to prescribe Vicodin and tell me to walk it off. They would not let me have crutches and I could not walk, but they would not let me out of the wheel chair until I was out of the hospital. I made an appointment with a specialist, got an MRI and had surgery a week later. I never would have been able to walk other wise.
Had Meniscus surgery a year ago. No big deal, not to invasive and not at the level near ACL or MCL tear. The surgery didn't fix much I still have the same pain but my knee now bends fully and doesnt "lock". Hurts especially bad in football and hockey. Goodluck guys
I did also suffer knee injury. It began when i was running 800m but before start running i fealt like it was inflammed or some thing and started running but after 700m i heard like a pop in my knee and it hurt so bad i was on crutches for 8weeks and now it's 4years ago and i have still not recoverd from the knee injury. I am now 17years old only.

The right side of the INSIDE of my left knee hurts after being left idle and when pressure is applied on the side not from above. It was caused after climbing over a wall from a fence, sideways and excesive walking after landing. If you think that's complicated, I could write a fucking book on my problems.
I am on my second bottle of the Joint Support + Vitamin B12 (from Dr. Max Powers) and have been using it regularly. I was afraid that I was going to have to stop exercising, which I knew wouldnt be good for my stress level or health. After a couple of weeks of using this, my knee pain has stopped and my left shoulder feels much better when I am moving it. I plan to use this regularly and recommend it to other folks with similar issues.
About 3 1/2 years ago, I injured my knee during a soccer match. It was extremely painful, swollen, and red. I didn't know what is was and just though it would go away with time. The pain didn't go away after 3 weeks so we went to the doctors. They say I have a sprained ligament, but they weren't specific. The doctor gave me an exercise sheet to do at home since my mom couldn't afford the physical therapy. Currently, I suffer from knee pain on multiple occasions...I don't know what to do anymore.
most doctors only give you ibuprofen for pain. i've really grown tired of paying a copay just to get a scrip. stretching is essential. in my case growing up i took youth for granted and never thoroughly stretched. as an adult i'd grown to tight to really get a descent stretch. for you guys like me, get a damn good upper leg massage. i.t. band, hamstrings, quads, glutes. it'll get you looser, now you can start getting a good stretch in.
@marvelousmarv89 that's friction my brother. your kneecap isn't tracking properly. if you are somewhat knock-kneed or perhaps bow-legged, your knee cap moves laterally when you tense your knee. this can be addressed with a knee strap worn beneath the knee. strengthen your quads by doing leg extensions with light weight, stationary bike riding. no squats yet! but as soon as you can, get a good upper leg massage. your i.t. band is working overtime to align your knees. i'm sure it is tight.
@edscottable yes! thank you sir! is there a knee strap that you would recommend? i used to be bow-legged when i was younger, but that problem was corrected by wearing a shoe brace. i've been working on my vertical jump, doing plyometrics and weight training for my legs but i've stopped squatting for like about a month.
@marvelousmarv89 i use one made by nike because its easiest to tighten. place it ON the patella tendon BETWEEN the knee cap and where the tendon attaches to the tibia (shin). in the middle. if you place it too close to your knee cap, your knee cap will try to slide under the strap. how do you know it's fastened tight enough? sit down, legs straight out in front of you. lift your leg rapidly as it is kept straight. you're patella jerks as the muscle is tensioned. apply, tighten to stop jerking
@edscottable thank you for your help. what is the actual name of the strap? how often should i wear it? is this cracking of the knee also known as jumpers knee?
@marvelousmarv89 jumper's knee is a general term that could refer to several overuse injuries in the knee. the product is simply known as a knee strap. if you watch the league, john wall wears one and so does evan turner. here we have sports authority and academy. up north there is modell's, i think. your major sporting goods would definitely have it. wear it everytime you play ball. i also use it when i do step-ups, light squatting, and running. not when i do leg extensions. and start icing!

@edscottable thank you again, im going to definitely start incorporating leg extensions into my workouts and go out buy this strap. do you have the same cracking problem?
@edscottable have you heard of Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields for bone healing? i read it treats tendons, ligaments and other bone problems. my brother had broken his leg and bought an EBI bone healing system, so started looking into it. Have you heard of this type of treatment?
i know this sounds weird but my knee doesn't hurt when i put pressure on it but when i'm walking it actually hurts on the "return"...does that make sense? the pain is on the inside of my knee (left side of my right knee) i'm totally perplexed...maybe you have an idea?
i have terrible pain but only when i run, jump or bend my right knee. the pain is on the outside of the knee and its been this way for months. my doctor seems to think its no big deal but then again he said the pain should have stopped after a few weeks. if anyone knows what this may be and or how to fix it please let me know.
here in the philippines, we believe on the power of massaging... wen we get sprains, dislocated joints, etc... we just go to those who know how to massage and after a week or 2 or sometimes 3, the pain will be felt no more!
i have brocken ACL on left knee for the last 4yrs now. not operated still works but the knee pains. tell me wht physio or other things to do......... not to do............thx

Can martial artist develope tendinitis due to hard training. Ive been student of Karate for a bout five years now and Just recently my knees have been hurting with throbing pain.
help please! I fell off my bike and landed on my knee, doc says its ok but i tried jogging now 3 weeks later and feel pain in the joint and my shin bone pops too. do you think ill be able to run normally again?
My knee has been hurting for about 3 weeks. The first week really hurt walking down stairs. I really can't seem to recall how it got hurt. I do a lot of running though, I guess it could have got hurt during running.
The pain seems to be going away though, and I can walk, jog. I have not tried running full speed though. Could it be a torn ligament?
@ElTri92 wait till you barely notice it, then try running full speed, i doubt its torn, you kinda know when they go lol, could be stretched or strained.
Whilst playing football I felt my left knee click on 2separate occasions both hurt but I seemed to run the pain off, at halftime I applied sum freeze spray to my knee during this time my began to Hurt really hurt to the point I could no longer move it. The A&E department along wiv my GP have said I have minor sprained my MCL it's been 2wks now I'm walking(limping)around without crutches but with pain my I add but bearable. More so at night if I'm to lay on my right side wiv my left leg bent try
I messed up my knee in football practice and yesterday I was walking and when I lifted up my knee I heard a pop and then a pain like nothing I've felt before I can't walk or put any pressure on it it hurts like a bitch anyone know what happend?
I had a dislocated knee and now I have numbness or iono how to explain the exotic feelin in my knee but I'll try doesn't hurt though its like numb and I get a like pulse on the side of my knee every time I lay down or run. Only dislocated once don't want to dislocate it again can someone tell how to prevent it from dislocating again happen last december
@IsayRooof that happened to me too.. i fell down sideways and heard my knee pop while playing soccer the doctor said in a week it would be fine but it wasn't. I got my xray and ultrasound done for my knee and it came out normal. its been a month and my knee still hurts when play sports :((
@IsayRooof call the doctor a dumb ass ot his face then get a second opinion and if there somthing wrong then talk to a lawyer because knee pain is very commonly over looked
what happens if one is UK based, had a mcycle crash over 4 years ago and the NHS cant decide on treatment and continually change diagnosis, doing tsts then not finding results[read misplaced] ....all around the same time the courts were pursuing the guy for damages from the guy who knocked off... hm
ive been working out all summer mon-fri and i rest weekends.....at the end of the week my legs are sore since i do just cardio....last week my right leg was more sore than usual and it goes numb occasionally...is that normal?
@Fminorpenta interesting, my leg is numb hip to foot though no doc has ever said that to me... more along the lines of it could be a nerve issue..ie; nerve being impinged by unnatural movement or some such but ye, go see doc....just not NHS !
i stand up allday at my job and i skateboard my kneess hurt all the time i havent hurt my knees from skateboarding but the impact from it. it hurts all day
@NYCxskateXinfo could be weight pressure on knee ?.... if not that then could be worn cartlidge or some such ...see a doc for sure but chicken bone soup may help to build up cartlidge..
its great that u guys know whats up with ur knee..I have no idea and its makingme reallie depressed.I run a lot and the pain can be felt on the insides of my knee.i did x-ray and they cant find anything but when i try running again after months it hurt again. If someone knows anything please please help.
@Fminorpenta hi, thanks.I said wrongly I did MRI not x-ray.doc said nothing.but i stopped running for few months and when i tried again it hurts.I have a feeling i overdid exercise cos i ran ever night and it swelled up and since that it started gaving me probs. Now i can feel my left knee just isnt that strong. Thanks for the advise, I will get another advise from another doctor to be safe!!
to set the ball on my right foot (basically my left foot was traveling to take an extra touch and i was balancing on my right foot) and i felt that my right femur slipped to the right side and made a sound ( lol ... BouL .... like oxygen bubble in the water) but i know that if i were torn my ligament i would have heard a sound like ( tick or tack) when it snaps. so now i can not fully flex my right leg but i experience pain at the back of my knee (softy bump) can any one tell me whats hapening
i a a skillful player (which means that i pull and push the ball to go round players)
i was playing soccer during a very hot day on artificial grass and during the game at one point a a player was coming and i pulled the ball with my right foot a step inward (away) to my left as i dodged the player i quickly pushed the ball behind him i had a clear chance to shoot but before you know i placed my right foot and was about to take an extra touch with my left foot
im a skateboarder i messed up my knee sk8ing..... when i land on my right knee somtimes it goes to the side and swells with extreme pain and the knee cap is loose than it suppose to be....what should i do?????????
I run a lot and play soccer. For the past few weeks my knee has been burning and like you mentioned it pops when I go up and down the stairs. What should I do to fix this? I got myself braces for the knee and I completely stopped my cardio. What is the solution?
@MrIrishlogic Plenty of reasons, Firstly on a hot day it is refreshing, You wouldn't believe how refreshed you can feel after >20KM if you can just decrease a bit your body's temperature. Moreover, it is more difficult,as the waves' drag and friction are far higher than air, and last but not least. it's fun!!!
and shoe are not destroyed that easily by some water not even salt water. However I do prefer running bare foot on the beach. Though that depends on the beach :)
im a figure skater & i think i eather dislocated my knee cap or got brusitis, i fell on my knee really hard acouple of times & it hurt for a month, but i didnt want to go to the doctor because i thought they might say i couldnt skate anymore, but now my knee caps move alot by them selves & fluid builds up around my knees if ive been bending my knees alot, like from doing sit spins
I was skating yesterday and flat out crashed hard on my left knee and probably re-injured it. it's been giving me grief since I was 15(People say I should stop skating) It's been cracking when I extend it and painful when I apply a lot of pressure to it. Any suggestions??
Ive gotten really bad hamstring tendinitis in my right knee due to squatting for powerlifting. My right knee is so stiff it feel like i have a brace on.
i am a serious skateboarder and tennis player. in feb. 09', my right knee started having pain under the knee cap and back of the knee after a snowboarding trip. then started cracking when i applied pressure on it and popping above the knee.. ive seen a doctor. a specialist, and a chiropractor. but none of the exercises they've given me have worked, it just gets worse. i'm scared that i'll never be able to skate again. the chiropractor said i might have a meniscus problem. what should i do?
@skatethrasher92 I am not a sport's person but in my situation my knee was locking all the time. Go to surgeon thru emergency of family doctor. They HAVE TO do MRI otherwise reg. x-ray will show nothing. I had my knee surg. 2 days ago (it's fun - especially when they put you asleep - so far no pain).
@skatethrasher92 You need to consider having an MRI done, if you haven't done so already. They'll tell you exactly what's going on with your knee, whether it be chondromalacia, a meniscus tear, or some kind of chronic inflammation. Also, make sure you have your MRI read by an Orthopedic physician. Hope this helps!
i have been snowboarding and skateboarding all my life.. i fell on my knees alot and it seems like the bone has a bump on the knee i always fell on.. and now that im 25 after doing thing i love my knee feels kind soar.. and i always think the ligaments didnt heal right.. and its getting better.. but maybe I gotta be happy i can walk pain free... I just dont wanna give it all up..
@Funkatronical Sounds like you may have some osteophytes growing. They're small bumps of bone growing on bone in response to repeat injury. At least that's what it sounds like to me. I'm an Athletic Trainer and I work in an orthopedic clinic so I see this stuff all the time.

a year ago..i got injured while playing basketball..im not sure what injury was it..something snapped/popped..i didnt walk for couple of weeks then when the pain was gone i went out to play again but everytime i play it pops..and again i cant walk for weeks..now,everytime i bend my knees something just crunches..can you tell me what injury do i have?
@mojsarmiti You need to have an MRI 1st and I'm sure you need surgery.( I've had 4 knee surgeries), If you wait, like I did for the first one,, it makes it worse!!!

Blufrenzy93 11 months ago
most doctors only give you ibuprofen for pain. i've really grown tired of paying a copay just to get a scrip. stretching is essential. in my case growing up i took youth for granted and never thoroughly stretched. as an adult i'd grown to tight to really get a descent stretch. for you guys like me, get a damn good upper leg massage. i.t. band, hamstrings, quads, glutes. it'll get you looser, now you can start getting a good stretch in.

i play basketball and my left knee is always cracking, does anyone know what it could be?
marvelousmarv89 11 months ago
@marvelousmarv89 that's friction my brother. your kneecap isn't tracking properly. if you are somewhat knock-kneed or perhaps bow-legged, your knee cap moves laterally when you tense your knee. this can be addressed with a knee strap worn beneath the knee. strengthen your quads by doing leg extensions with light weight, stationary bike riding. no squats yet! but as soon as you can, get a good upper leg massage. your i.t. band is working overtime to align your knees. i'm sure it is tight.
edscottable 11 months ago
@edscottable yes! thank you sir! is there a knee strap that you would recommend? i used to be bow-legged when i was younger, but that problem was corrected by wearing a shoe brace. i've been working on my vertical jump, doing plyometrics and weight training for my legs but i've stopped squatting for like about a month.
marvelousmarv89 11 months ago
@marvelousmarv89 i use one made by nike because its easiest to tighten. place it ON the patella tendon BETWEEN the knee cap and where the tendon attaches to the tibia (shin). in the middle. if you place it too close to your knee cap, your knee cap will try to slide under the strap. how do you know it's fastened tight enough? sit down, legs straight out in front of you. lift your leg rapidly as it is kept straight. you're patella jerks as the muscle is tensioned. apply, tighten to stop jerking
edscottable 11 months ago
@edscottable thank you for your help. what is the actual name of the strap? how often should i wear it? is this cracking of the knee also known as jumpers knee?
marvelousmarv89 11 months ago
@marvelousmarv89 jumper's knee is a general term that could refer to several overuse injuries in the knee. the product is simply known as a knee strap. if you watch the league, john wall wears one and so does evan turner. here we have sports authority and academy. up north there is modell's, i think. your major sporting goods would definitely have it. wear it everytime you play ball. i also use it when i do step-ups, light squatting, and running. not when i do leg extensions. and start icing!

i know this sounds weird but my knee doesn't hurt when i put pressure on it but when i'm walking it actually hurts on the "return"...does that make sense? the pain is on the inside of my knee (left side of my right knee) i'm totally perplexed...maybe you have an idea?

i have terrible pain but only when i run, jump or bend my right knee. the pain is on the outside of the knee and its been this way for months. my doctor seems to think its no big deal but then again he said the pain should have stopped after a few weeks. if anyone knows what this may be and or how to fix it please let me know.

here in the philippines, we believe on the power of massaging... wen we get sprains, dislocated joints, etc... we just go to those who know how to massage and after a week or 2 or sometimes 3, the pain will be felt no more!

ElTri92 1 year ago
@ElTri92 wait till you barely notice it, then try running full speed, i doubt its torn, you kinda know when they go lol, could be stretched or strained.

@IsayRooof an xray will not nessesarly reveal any damage of the soft tissues.
GO TO PHYSIO
if you cant afford it
Rest it and put ice packs for 15 per 5 hours until the pain is gone
Then you need to strengthen the inner quads.

@sidewalkid Not at all, you need to a doctor ASAP , if it is numb that likely means a loss of blood flow.

to set the ball on my right foot (basically my left foot was traveling to take an extra touch and i was balancing on my right foot) and i felt that my right femur slipped to the right side and made a sound ( lol ... BouL .... like oxygen bubble in the water) but i know that if i were torn my ligament i would have heard a sound like ( tick or tack) when it snaps. so now i can not fully flex my right leg but i experience pain at the back of my knee (softy bump) can any one tell me whats hapening

hello there i have a question !
i a a skillful player (which means that i pull and push the ball to go round players)
i was playing soccer during a very hot day on artificial grass and during the game at one point a a player was coming and i pulled the ball with my right foot a step inward (away) to my left as i dodged the player i quickly pushed the ball behind him i had a clear chance to shoot but before you know i placed my right foot and was about to take an extra touch with my left foot

@skatethrasher92 you should pray about it :-) and I will pray for you too :-)
LeesTWINsister 1 year ago
@skatethrasher92 You need to consider having an MRI done, if you haven't done so already. They'll tell you exactly what's going on with your knee, whether it be chondromalacia, a meniscus tear, or some kind of chronic inflammation. Also, make sure you have your MRI read by an Orthopedic physician. Hope this helps!
