hey webnut yesterday i installed ubuntu mint like this one but everytime i try to move or quit a window there is no option like on windows xp what do i have to do to get it working props thanks
when you get the the 'Ready to Install' section, when you click on Advanced... on my computer it says 'Device for boot loader installation:' in your tutorial it says '/dev/sda'. Should I change this to '(hd0)' as you have at 6:20 in the video. Thanks a lot dude, you rock!!!
sweet, but the linux mint 8 has the option of installing with side by side with windows to choose which 1 to run when turnin on pc. wasnt on ur tuturial. good 1 anyways helped me thru it
i bought a Laptop which has Linux Fedora 10 and everytime i want to do something it asks me for the ROOT. what is Root? everytime i type something it shows up again and again ROOT? how can i make a Root Password?
Root is privigled user ( ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT ), you must know whats your administrator password to example. install software, remove software, change configuration...
If you dont know your ROOT password, i can recover it for you for free ( give instructions on INSTANT MESSAGER ).
My Harddrive is divided into 2 partitions, NTFS /boot, FAT32
I would like to add these 3 by shorting the last one in, it contains to much free space. can i do this without losing the data on the partition I want to cut back?
how do you get linux mint
pls reply
Thanks!

I wonder whether you could help me too. I had to stop the installing process at the part of Prepare Disk Space. I want to single boot mint.
This is what I got from the partiton editor: Part.-Filesys-Label-Size-Used-Unused-Flags
/dev/sda1-ntfs-ibm_preload-33.04 GiB-5.62 GiB-27.42 GiB-boot
/dev/sda2-fat32-0-4.22 GiB-3.67 GiB-571.50 MiB-0
I would be grateful for any help in the right direction. This is my first OS install ever.

Virtual dual boot?
Mossi1992 2 years ago
Its just a "how to" install Debian/Ubuntu based distribution.
I used Virtualbox-OSE to record this video.
If you want, you can make dualboot in your virtual machine.
