Dear closedcircle1. I am a 50's kid. My generation learned the Lazy Man's Lindy.
When I saw the steps the kids of the late 30's and 40's were kickin' out I said to myself........"self, I just gotta get me some o' that." So I looked up the likes of Messrs. James, Goodman, Shaw, Basie, Krupa, Miller, Dorsey and like that and started to do some serious Lindy Hoppin. No comparison WHAT so ever to the watered down 50's version. Clear the floor my feet are startin' to vibrate. Just can't get enough.
I can see myself raht now............swingin' that lindy hop and gettin' all groovy till my socks switched feet and that gorgeous little chick I was swingin' was doin' her knockout workout, skirt a flyin' and saddle shoes a smokin'..........we were really chasin' it .....like I mean solid Jackson and no stopaction Whaaaaaaaahoo!! Mercy!!...... Mister James' I do believe me and that little cutie could still do it to it when I hear this outrageous recording....ain't nothin like it anymore..woof.

One of the first early examples of the use of a back beat. The back beat is the reason why it sounds "rock n roll" or even like most electronic music. Great piece of work here. Listening to this stuff really makes me appreciate music. Great upload!!
i love those happy peppy war songs and basically anything jazzy from a record..you just cant get the same feel from the radio..unless you use a super old one like me :P
I was l3 years old when I played this record. My God!!! Still love it. Thanks to whomever put it on here.

Harry James was more a favorite with the kids for his dance tunes. Miller, Shaw and others appealed to more adults.

I just love this music, so much better than the stuff that's made these days. I've listened this song for 2 hours now, time to put a reaction:)
