I have been looking for this for so long! Brings back so many memories though I can't quite remember how Hale & Pace got famous enough to do the comic relief single
My daughter was 2 when this charted. We had to play it on every single car journey to keep her quiet. Then when Right said Fred released the comic relief song "stick it out" we had to go over the sme ritual. Shame, can't find that on Youtube
They taught us a really crap dance in primary school to go along with this. I can still remember some of it. Running from side to side was how it started. I agree that there needs more comedy songs for charity. TENACIOUS D FOR THE NEXT SONG!
The last time there was a Comic Relief song that was funny. It's about time funny Comic Relief went back to funny songs. The point is COMIC relief. We all know the subject matter is not funny and that that is the reason for Comic Relief so who wants to buy a single that is depressing? Just the fact that we know it is a Comic Relief single and that the words Comic Relief are printed on the box is enough.
I was in my last year at Primary School when this song came on and it was really big in fact.. - Got a lot of air time.. ppl singing it in the playground..
I can't believe I bought this! On cassette tape aswell! Produced by Brian May too if i'm not mistaken! Ah, and look at Roger Taylor before old age truely set in!
I was ten, nearly 11 and i remember my junior school were having a comic releaf fundraiser in our hall at school to raise money.
They played this track all day as we had a bring and buy sale! ;)
Can't remember how much the school raised, but i do remember me taking the tape of this track home without the teachers knowing! ;).The next day the teachers were asking for it,but i kept quite!,Naughty, but wierd to think of now cause i'm 28! ;)
Every Comic Relief song features the stars of the day - a fine time capsule.
By the way the punchline to the song (following the line " All right, officer, I`ll come quietly")is "Well, that would make a change", which someone has cut out.
Thats everything a comic relief song should be. Zany, original and FUN! Not like this years offering. Who gave the Sugababes and Girls aloud permission to tear a classic to shreds?!? Whoever that was needs to be strung up! Just goes to show the lack of imagination with todays paper thin popettes.
Yeah, I think the best cover song for comic relief was the young ones singing living doll. When I was a kid I used to love it when Vivean smashed things up. The picture is kind of fuzzy, but I was sure I spotted the cast of The Mary Whitehouse Experience. Classic.
A truly awful song, sung by two utterly talentless individuals who somehow passed as comedians for many years. I don't care if it was for charity, this is a crime against music and humanity alike. Sickening. (In case you haven't realised, I don't like it very much).
I was looking for this funny video almost a decade! I saw it with some friends and I lost the track. So far almost impossible. I only rememebered Brian, Roger, Cozy Powell... and Mr. Bean playing drums is my favourite part!!
like it because of Mr.Bean!
