All of the electric guitars that I own are Fenders. I really like the necks on their guitars. I have a magnet reaction to sienna bust models. I like the look of the Dean Rebel guitar and am wondering if you could give me your opinion on the guitar. I am thinking that I would not fancy the painted neck. A finished Gibson Flying V neck feels like a 2X4 to me compared to an unfinished strat neck. I considered buying the Rebel but I honestly don't think i would be comfortable with it.

I play les pauls mainly so low is nice but when I break out the strats Its got to be high, its all about how the neck rests in your hand

Im having a hard time with pinch harmonics, do you know if the pickups on the guitar can make it harder?(i have a squier) thx, btw, after hearing this i have no doubt that Metals Not Dead, 5 stars

Bob usually you sould be abal to do pinch harmonics on any guitar.....lets see..Hold down any fret, on any string,Choke up on your pick so there is only about a half or quarter centimeter showing,Pick the note, but barely brush your thumb across the string as you pick it (should be one motion). .....Put a nice vibrato on the note (optional) ..peace....[Freddie] ....

Bob ...more distortion makes it easier, and can help a lot in the early stages when you're learning the motions. As you feel more confident, turn back the distortion a bit to hone your skills. .....More distortion tends to create a more full-sounding squeal. A squeal done with minimal distortion will not have any sustain, and will die very quickly, whereas a squeal done with ample distortion will allow you to manipulate and hold the note out longer. .....Freddie

Bob the easiest notes to squeal are commonly the 3rd fret of the bottom strings, so try them first (EAD). The difficulty tends to get harder as you move down the fret towards the pickups.

Well Squiers are pretty cheap entry level guitars, no offense, so they may not pinch as well. Also, humbuckers pinch better than single coils. You can still get the technique down though, the sound might not be as good.
