Very informative video, thank you - I'm trying to grasp all the basic concepts before I even start practise skinning & fleshing. This seems like a very interesting thing to do; and as I'm a very arty person and already have somewhat a feel for animal anatomy from my studies & sculptures, this seems like a cool thing to learn.
I have a question, is it fairly easy to tell the difference between flesh and skin? I'm worried I may not be able to tell.
you should be ashamed for doing this to that deer.NAH!! just kiddin, thought I would play the part of the crazy animal rights wacko for a change. seriously though, where could a fellow taxidermist get one of those fleshing knives/ blade holder you got. believe it or not I have never seen one quite like that.
thanks and great videos. keep it up, we want to see more
Good video series. Excellent detail. Thank you for taking the time to post it. One suggestion, why don't you make a block to mount to your bench with tapered holes at a few different angles in it so your " fleshing stick" is not flopping around. Just looks like you are fighting it a little.
Boy doing a whole body must be a pain? Don't they have salts that can dry the meat, and fat?
