This is all about superstition, old tradition, low education and poverty. Had the people involved in these awful acts been born somewhere else they would have most likley seen this as sickening just as the rest of us. I have been around albinos before & these albinos look white rather than albino. Their eyes are different & so is their skin. Albinism is rare in every culture & race, but it happens all over the world in people & animals. I bet the 2 brothers both being albino is really rare. Why are there so many in that one area?

It is heartbreaking for me to see this happening to anyone, especially children. I would get those children out of there. The family cannot protect them. Leave the area completely.

Its interesting to see how so many people fall into the trap of questioning the messenger or the outlet of a story and don't even make an attempt to at least address the content of the story. The persecution of albinos in Tanzania and some other places in Africa is about ignorance and how that ignorance needs to be confronted, shamed, and corrected. A lot of the reactions to this story, however, clearly shows that human ignorance is universal & not particular to a group or region.

So cruel and unnecessary. The albino mutation seems to be happening in all of life. Not just humans. It affects all mammals, and goes far beyond that. Albino frogs, albino butterflies, albino snakes, albino fish. It just happens. Its a tiny tiny little insignificant change in metabolism, doesnt affect anything other than pigmentation.

Ive seen an adult albino alligator, and these intolerant people should meet him, together with some albino lions, albino scorpions and an albino boa constrictor.
