  • what if angola buys St helena? british people dont give a fuck about the 3 islands in south atlantic, let angolans rule we have some good project for the islands

  • @angolanchico because if angola bought it nobody would want to live there

  • @TheT33g why do you say that?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheT33g referring to an yearly comment.. any country is a shithole including your country, thats not the case these people wanna leave the island so why not putting on sale? these islands are not good to live in...

  • @angolanchico tell me why england is a shithole? also these people wanna leave but i bet after being in the stress of a big city with all the dickheads and parsites they will soon wanna be back on their little island because i would soon rather live there than here

  • @TheT33g i was just trying to say every country has good and bad things.....image the grow populations. the island would flood , islands like these should be for military and scientific purposes in my opinion. or at least expand the islands into the ocean makin it a bid island, dubai people can do that , netherland people can do that , angolans can do that. so why brintain don even think about this?

  • @angolanchico ok youve got your opinion ive got mine sorry if i insulted you i didnt mean to peace brother

  • joan peters i look for you

  • They are planning to build an airport on the island with flights to and from Cape Town. It will destroy the islands unique culture but at the same time boost the islanders fortunes hopefully. It is almost entirely subsidised by the UK, most jobs are public sector, wages are pitiful and prices are very expensive. I do feel sorry for the mixed emotions of these kids. Google St Helena Independent for the excellent island paper.

  • I would like to live there.

  • There accent is somewhat British and Australian mixed into one... weird.

  • @SuicidalCoffee It sounds very similar to south african accents !!!

  • @theworldvideos1 Agreed. So so confused. I didn't even know this place existed till... well.... NOW! xD

  • @SuicidalCoffee Its a very isolated place. Apparently it takes days to reach there, as they don't have an airport, therefore ships have to travel there for days from South Africa.

  • The airport will ruin the place and what makes it special. And no one will have any choice about that. It sounds like it will be forced through economically. Just another tourist island with all that comes with it. : (

  • @ChorltonBrook but every body there speaks perfect English, that's like every English holiday makes dream,

a hot holiday island that's only a few hours away by plane, where every body talks the same as you

  • @255ad are you talking about st helena? i thought thyere were no airports so how can you fly?

  • @modelearth if there was I mean

  • @255ad Sorry for taking so long to reply. It would just make me a little sad to know that another unique place has been put through the tourist economy mill like so many others I've seen it happen to. It may seem all pluses at the moment but if you go visit a lot of other tourist destinations you'll see what I mean. I've seen places change before and after. Before was better. Good luck & best wishes to you and your island though. And a Merry Christmas from the UK. : )

  • @ChorltonBrook I don't live on this island

  • @255ad Well ... Season's Greetings anyway. Peace and Goodwill to all : )

  • Dont be foolish.Tristao da Cunha was a Portuguese navigator. This island including StHelena was discovered by us Portuguese. portuguese in the past discovered many places but Portugal did not have enough people to go to those places to colonize.

  • 4 grand a year ?, i get that in a month !

  • I believe, that one way or another, the Saints have had a raw deal from the UK government.

  • I would like to move there. I am nearing retirement in my country which is 55. I have an IT diploma and will soon get a diploma in teaching English. I have bee an office worker for many years.

  • it's great to live on the isolate island

  • Wow...I learned of St. Helena and Tristan de Cunha a couple years ago. I decided to look up more info about the islands today and found out that black slaves (some free) lived there in the early 1800s...I can see that clearly now...I thought that after almost 200 years, there would be no trace of "Africanness" on the island, but I guess not! Great video...How many students actually leave? Where do they usually go? The UK? How long do they stay away and do they adapt well?

  • @LuvLady22 Well most of the inhabitants have some african and even some asian ancestory. Most young people tend to leave the island after schooling, either to work in the UK, South Africa or British colonies such as the Falkland Islands on long term contracts, possibly 10-20 years, and then when they get enough money, they come back to the island, where they either set up a business or if they worked longer, they then mostly retire.

  • @theworldvideos1 Interesting...Hopefully, I'll visit one day. Thanks for the reply, esp. in such a short time...
