LOL, I love this old logo and have seen it soooo many times over the years thanks to all the videotapes on which I have it...but I'm really glad to find that other people have also always found it scary/unsettling!!! XD
I Have To Buy All 11 Videocassettes Including All 5 Lady Lovelylocks Videos (Hi-Tops Video) And All 5 Ninja Turtles Videos As Well As A Star Fairies Video (Family Home Entertainment).
I think I first saw this logo in a Ninja Turtles VHS... God, that logo just didn't make any sense. It was loud and slow at the same time, what the hell! :D
I remember this one, whenever my friends and I saw this logo come shooting up from the bottom of the screen along with the music, we just screamed our heads off, we kept rewinding it on ninja turtles and just kept screaming.
I remember in elementary school, we were all excited to watch Frosty the Snowman... the teacher popped the tape in and this logo came on. Needless to say, probably half of the class was crying.
I, being a child of the 80s, used to be freaked out by logos like these. For this particular one, I remember it felt like the air was being sucked out of my lungs and I remember my eyes being wide while it played. LOL But it doesn't compare to the old Emergency Broadcast System "tests." Those scared me FAR worse than this.
A couple of other logos that I remember freaking me out were the Viacom and another one that I can't remember with Morse code. The latter one sent chills down my spine.
Seriously, am I the only person alive who was scared to death of this logo as a kid?
I used to watch the old Ninja Turtle movie as a kid. When this logo came up I would close my eyes, then when it was over I would enjoy the movie while eating a Ninja Turtle Pie ( a favorite childhood snack of mine that most people seem to have forgotten).
You're not alone. This logo scared the shit out of me! Yeah, snuggle next to your family and get introduced with this scary logo every Thursday night!
Speaking of f.h.e. videos in the 80s, does anyone remember an animated video they did about a lamb whose mother is killed by a wolf, and who decides afterward that he will become a wolf so that he can never be victimized again? I always remember it because it was such a terribly sad story and yet the animation was totally captivating.
You said it dude. After seeing this bastard of an 80s VHS logo, and watching The Transformers, I felt SOOOO better after that! What really scared the living shit out of me was not only the yellow screen, but the music. Ugggh! It was fucking freaky to see this sequence before watching the Autobots and the Decepticons kick some ass! But no, you're on the same boat with me. This logo is also why I hated the color yellow. EVERY Transformers fan knows what I'm talking about here.
Never thought that classic nightmares could be good memories. Ironic, isn't it? Two of the greatest Hasbro cartoons, The Transformers and GI Joe VHS's had this logo. Now at age 20, I'm not afraid of this logo.
I mentally cue the first season intro for Transformers after the FHE logo whisks away, because I spent a lot of time watching FHE Transformers tapes when I had access to a VCR back in 1986.
@Xiado I always associated the FHE logo with my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tapes. I remember Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers was one of them. It always came after the Burger King Kid's Club ad.
@yellowdiva21 I remember if from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also. It was the first thing I thought of, specifically the episode where April O'Neill has a look-a-like who is a princess.
