  • You know what else is good about this machine? NO electronic parts to give error codes and completely prevent the washer from operating at all. Mechanical controls/parts rule!!

  • LOL! It's like this washer is saying, "Your Mama!" to all those Maytag Bravos' and Kenomre Oasis'

  • Gee, you need to use the gentle cycle.

  • When i buy my house next year, i am going to the used appliance store and buying one of these. They are AWESOME.

  • @2006arakawafan You may have to search online for these as the direct drive had stopped being made just late last year, but i'm sure you will be able to come across something.

  • No Kenmore Oasis, or front loader can come close to this rollover and agitation. For those of you wondering about the sound, that's just how they sound. They're quite noisy. They last 15 years or so.. Quite a bargain if you ask me considering the terrible reliability of the new fangled machines

  • @SpazChat exactly. Not to mention that your clothes do not ever come out smelling as fresh in a front loader as in a top. Its a no brainer to me.

  • @2006arakawafan , Well the industry seems to have a lot of people fooled. I recently saw a front load washer and dryer set at Sears for $2,023. Ridiculous . That might have been the price for just the washer. But at any rate, even if a low efficiency washer does use a lot of water, the high cost of a front loader is not rational

  • @SpazChat I dont get it. Front loaders take twice as long cycle wise, and cost 3X as much and dont last nearly as long as a top loader. Not to mention that your clothes will smell like dirty diapers. I mean, flat out, when i read reports of clothes coming out of those things with detergent lines/stains in them, its gross. I just dont get it.

  • @2006arakawafan , I don't get it either. Many of the reviews I've read about front loaders don't have nice things to say, and yes they cost more and don't last as long. But oh wait.. they save so much water.. LOL!

  • @SpazChat I tell ya man, those pieces of crap require so much repair it is not even funny, doesn't seem like much money saving to me.

Our top loader is 21 years old and still working perfect.

  • Cool

  • Cool

  • This agitation owns all others!

  • @P1C92 No it's not anything you can make it quieter they all sound like that.

  • I Love Washers That Wash Liikee That

  • Awesome turnover.......superior to almost all others......

  • @andrewfournie.....whatever it has it has it right! Fantastic machine :-)

  • you can try tightening down the agitator but thats a pretty normal sound for that washer.

  • INCREDIBE AGITATION ACTION! HAD ONE of these for fifteen years and only needed a belt...ever! Washer and dryer set unbeatable! Cleanest clothes you can get with the furious agitation. Period.

  • @mrbrandon71 this washer dose not have a belt

  • @mrbrandon71 These machines don't have belts. They're direct drive.

  • I'll take an old school Montgomery Wards 3658 before I mess with that.

  • @P1C92 No, it's the way it's designed. Direct Drive with high speed agitation. It's not a defect in manufacturing. These machines last a long time (15 years or more)

  • I like loud washers/dishwashers!!!!!!!

  • Wow, we thought we were the only ones with a train going through the house on wash day....Shake it on dude!!

  • Very nice! I love this washer!

  • Guy: What the heck are ya' doin' with a 'Yankee' washing machine?!?!?!? It was really made by Whirlpool for an American Dept. store called Sears. Must have a helluva step-down regulator?!? Cheers!

  • @OHhooverpoof What are you babbling about? The Kenmores looked way nicer than the skank Whirlpools every did. And usually they had much nicer features.

  • @BlogShag Found it incredible that a guy from the UK had a Kenmore washing machine....I'm not babbling, you twit!!!

  • @OHhooverpoof , Well get out and live a little. It's not that incredible. And for your information, these machines last 15 years or more

  • @SpazChat yup, they do, i have a direct drive, belive its 11 or 12 years old, just replaced some parts that broke over the years, like the lid switch, agitator dogs, motor couple(old one very loose)and clutch(took for ever to get going on spin. But i replaced those parts(cheaper than new washer) and bam like new again.

  • whats with the banging sound?

  • beating the shit err i mean dirt out of those clothes!

  • @Tuthill99 Beating the shit out of the clothes is right. These washers have gained the nick name Shredmores or Shredpools for the Whirlpool versions

  • Nothing beats a direct drive Kenmore or Whirlpool. The most fun washing cloths since the Frigidaire Jet Cone!

  • Comment removed

  • i got the cousin washer to this model!

  • Mas tb é uma bateção...

  • you know i actually kinda like that thunka thunka sound

  • SIGH ahhhh Fresh smell Lmaoo :P

i love the smell of the laundry room while in action! you can smell the washing powder Wooop =D depends wot u're using tho.

  • My Kenmore makes the same knocking, is that normal?

  • Yep. It's normal. Kenmore is built by whirlpool corp. based on the Design 2000 direct drive system. The knocking does get a little anoying at times.

  • Oh ok. I knew Kenmores were made by whirlpool but I didn't know if the knocking was normal. I used to have a belt-driven Kenmore/Whirlpool. It wasn't quiet either though, I suppose:)

  • Sometimes the plastic " motor drive coupling" goes for a dump on these and it gets noisy exactly like that.. if your machine only pumps water and it wont agitate or spin the coupling has failed completely.. Don't worry they are cheap and easy to replace, in fact its harder to get the cabinet off than it is to change the coupling!

  • Yeah I've done a coupler before and a pump (most common two things on those washers as I understand it). This one has made that noise since it was new. It's not so bad now. It's almost gotten quieter (or I've gotten used to it).

Still, the direct drive is WAY simpler to repair than the belt drives, though both designs are bulletproof.

  • the coupling will make a much faster sound then that one. and getting the cabinet off is less then a minute if you know how. pop the console up and flip it back disconect the lid switch conector. and pop out the two gold spring clips that hold the cabinet to the back panel and you can lift the whole cabinet right away.

  • Got a good rhythm though!!!

  • yes, they all do that,

I know, we used to have the same one...

  • is that dual action?

  • Yes, this is a dual action agitator washer displaying high speed agitation

  • Love Kenmore. Is there a lint filter anywhere on it? How can I clean it. I'm noticing lint in my wash.

  • Denise, these models are equipped with an internal lint filter that doesn't require cleaning

  • Mine is a much older model. late 80s probally. Is it possible that the filter needs replacing?

  • I can't advise you on that one denise. Call a tech

  • we have a similar model these kenmores rock!

  • i have the laundry center like that it washes the same way and the washer is triple action rather than dual action

  • Jeeez, that's some serious high-speed agitation. Are you sure your clothes weren't beat to lint in the process? ;)

  • I think the person should use the gentle wash for small loads.

  • wow....i love your videos. my grandfather had the same thor machine, it was great to see it again after so many years. the kenmore was great too!
