not bad mattes in alpha channel are frustrating might have work better if you used a a grain to hide its to clean on the mountain area.

Hey I work in one of the largest VFX houses in the world i'm a 3D artist. One thing I would say about this piece is that the light lets it down. As the clouds move the light on the mountains should move as well. You need to colour correct the foreground plate to achieve this. Nice start though

SHAKE is not being produced anymore... so it kinda limits it.. AE is still good.. i usually use AE.. but yea.. Fusion is getting more.. widespread.. if u can say that.. NUKE... not so many people actually know how to use it yet... smoke is good too.. but not too widespread yet either.. AE is still the best known.... the comp engine in Softimage XSI is amazing.. i used that for 3 years... just for basic stuff tho.. then imported into AE..

Shake kills AE, FUsion and NUKE are still little guys compared to shake. Even though nuke is newer like fusion. Shake is a standard. The golden compass was composited souly on shake and flame. AE is layer based. Your a fool if you think you can use a layer base app with feature films. It can be done but i laugh at people who try, AE is a mograph app shake is a compositor. AE has no mdiv or loglin etc. I need htis for compositing. for composite AE in NO comparsion

Never would use Shake nor After Effects.

One thing I hate is it's GUI.

People say it's faster then Fusion, I don't see it happening.

Got Fusion hooked with 7 machines, works like charm 1080P etc. ;)

shake is stil the standard, EOL or not. They are selling the source code to big companies that have thousands invested in shake. I work in the industry and i still see more wanted shake artists than ANYTHING ELSE. Nuke and fusion, though newer, WIll not dethrown shake for a long time.

@redwavestudios Shake was used way more than fusion. its all goin nuke now
