  • I absolutely love the look Scott gives Tessa at 0:28. Not only is it amazing, but it also shows just how great these two are into getting in character.

  • This is becoming so old! In response to the last (snide) commentary, V&M were scored above B/P due to many factors that anyone with skating knowledge & understanding of COP would be able to detect ... just as D&W stayed ahead of P&W even tho' he fell in COR. If you don't have this knowledge, why wade into the fray just to sound off?

  • I love both Virtue & Moir and Davis and White. However, I am quite astounded at the evaluation of difficulty of the DW routine. The difficulty is evaluated by a specialist. Up until the cup of Russia 3 weeks ago, 3 of the 5 elements from DW were level 3. Now, suddenly, they all get level 4. This is rather surprising. I have watched all the routines from DW but can't seem to see such an improvement. Can somebody help with this ?

  • Haha, I just laugh at the animosity b/w some Moir/Virtue and Davis/White fans. I love watching both of those teams as a neutral fan, so may the best come out on top this weekend! :)

  • Scott's ass even hit the ice to the beat!

  • @hiroismyhomeboy they should get an extra point for that tbh

  • Scott needs a new partner; clearly Theresa tripped him up by sticking her foot in the way at 1:14. (No he did not catch a blade.) Her surgery on her lower legs has not given her the ability to react as sharp as she needs to be. Time to take another year off Theresa.

  • @gchardy First off, her name is Tessa. Secondly, in my opinion it doesn't look like she stuck her foot out. It just seems they were skating too close. Tessa has stated repeatedly that this season she is feeling really healthy and strong and I personally think she most definitely at par with not only Scott, but Davis/White. They've skated together since they were 7 and 9 and their chemistry together on ice is brilliant. Slip ups happen to even the best, and how V/M handled Scott's fall was great.

  • @gchardy lol Theresa? You think you're so clever, don't you? Her name is on top of the video & it's even on the side videos. Scott fell cause his blade got caught w/ hers. They skate really close together. Tessa has already changed her stroking and she's feeling better this year. They became Olympic champions with her in pain so I'm sure they can do more now that she's healthy.

  • @gchardy She did not tripped him, he fell on his own. He switched hand, did a simple left crossed threeturn and fell because his weight was a bit too much on the heel. Scott has high heel boots (at least 2.5", much higher than freestyle). Sometimes, advanced ice dancers fall on silly things such as simple threeturns or mohawks, but not on choctaws or counters& rockers. FYI, high heel skates give ice dancers longer lines, better pointed toes...

  • besides all this, thank you @nikaquest for putting up all these videos. really appreciate :)

if you all want better quality, Universal Sports @sportsnetwork also puts up official videos. very clear videos, but they don't have all the performances.

  • such a crying shame!! They're so gorgeous, my heart plummeted when it happened... Still better get such a thing out the way here than at World's I suppose.

I guess also it's attests to their skilled footwork skating so close together - we often take for granted their skills and polish in this regard as they're usually flawless...

Wishing them no other such "gremlins" for the rest of the season! :-)

  • 1:15 O_O OH MY GOD !!

  • people are complaining that D/W scored better than V/M? seriously, guys? I think Virtue and Moir were overscored. I'm saying they aren't good skaters, because they're amazing, but i think it's completely fair that Meryl and Charlie scored higher. It's not even like they're ahead by 20 points. It's five points. Makes a difference, yes, but it could be even a bigger leap. They did a better job this time around. Get over it.

  • @starrgazrr i meant to say "I'm NOT saying that they aren't good skaters." I do think they're very good.

  • What's a little sad is that the people complaining, who seem to be big fans of Virtue and Moir, don't seem to know a whole lot about ice dancing.

  • no where near Davis/ White.. this pair is over scored..

  • @ChariceBillboard LOL THE IRONY OF THIS COMMENT

  • to everyone complaining that D/W were scored too high, if V/M were scored 5 points higher, would you be complaining? think about it.

you can have your favorites, but don't be hypocrites. you can't hold double standards.

  • @GloToIt Actually, I think that if VM were that much higher than DW I would be upset as well. They are both at such an equal level, that it would seem strange to me either way. At any rate, we will see how it goes in the FD, but regardless, at this point, it would be surprising if VM can make up that many points.

  • After his fall, she is the one that seemed to get incredibly tense. The twizzles were not as smooth as usual, and there's an obvious balance check at 3:00. Overall just not the easy edges and quality that we are used to seeing from them.

  • Not sure why you guys are surprised. Tessa and Scott only got level 3 on 2 elements. . .and clearly it doesn't help when you help your competition by falling on your ass and give points away, What is surprising is how Tessa and Scott stayed above Natalie and Fabian by that much of a margin.

  • @pandacamlover

Charlie fell at Cup of Russia but they scored by over 5 points higher than Weaver/Poje.

  • @varzabarza A fall is a fall. You get 1 point off if one person falls and some points off of pcs if not on element. No biggie. The important thing is to do the elements and get level 4s on them. In this competition, Tessa and Scott did NOT do that. Scott fell giving points away, Tessa missed a key point in Rumba segment which only gave them level 3, and their no touch step only got a level 3. This dance is FAR from perfect and they should be a lot closer to Natalie and Fabian.

  • @pandacamlover They had a quick recovery though which is great. I love P/B but they aren't at V/M or D/W' level.

  • @roycemints yeah P/B are great skaters but they need to change coaches imo

  • @binkerrrrr Who should P/B go to? Z/S are the only ones who really know the COP but they already have so many teams. Besides, I like the programs that Team Detroit has put out this year. very creative.

  • @roycemints yes they are really creative in terms of choreography but the reason why P/B are scored too low is because they need to work on the technical aspects

honestly, this sport is becoming like pairs now it only cares about the technical elements

  • M/C's score= shit

I would really like to have a talk with these judges... just a talk, really.

  • @sailorjupiter91 hello? her twizzles (understandably) after the fall were not her best...look at all the ice flying off her blades in the first set. Learn the scoring system people.

  • c'mon!!! this is one of their most passionate programs!!! too harsh score....

  • There is no way, even with the fall, that DW are that far ahead. No disrespect to DW, since they are wonderful skaters, but 5 points better than Tessa and Scott? We are not watching the same competition.

  • @LLBSAYSOJ Really?? V/M had a huge fall, the first rhumba sequence had a small mistake resulting in level 3, shaky twizzels by her, stumbles here and there. That's close to 5 points lost just there, and I'm not talking about PCS, which would have been higher without the mistakes, no doubt. Whereas D/W were CLEAN all way through. ;)

  • @ILoveFigures I didn't say I didn't this that Meryl and Charlie should not be ahead of Tessa and Scott. I just don't think that it should be 5 points ahead. And that's just my opinion. I think that they deserved winning the technical element, but I think that Tessa and Scott should have been equal or higher in PCS, regardless of the fall and the stumble. I feel like Meryl and Charlie did much better on that side at CoR, and that the performance side today was lacking.

  • @LLBSAYSOJ I agree. DW just don't seem to sparkle in the latin rythms / this year's SD..

  • @LLBSAYSOJ that said, I did feel the fall affected them a bit (there was one clear moment of instability from Scott after too) so perhaps this further compromised their score...

Let's see what the FD holds.

  • @charskateful That is true. It was certainly an unfortunate fall.

  • @LLBSAYSOJ I disagree I actually think D/W have the superior program this year and they're skating their SD at this particular competition a bit weak, fall aside.

  • @JessieBanana That's okay. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I feel that DW have the better FD this season and that VM have the better SD.

  • even with the fall

i still dont understand how they are five pts behind

  • @binkerrrrr have you invested any time in learning how this scoring system works? Levels, plus and minuses for Grade of Execution, deduction for falls.........

  • @EightballRus yes i have and its obvious that meryl and charlie's scores are inflated
