There's no doubt that the Lexus IS is a great car, so is the Infiniti G....although European cars are costlier to maintain they have a sense of soul and character which the Japanese brands (aside from Subaru) just don't seem to have. Still a great car though

Funny. My brother has an IS350 and it's in the shop all the time. I thought Lexus were supposed to be good? He's also got a classic Alfa Romeo 164 which has been far more reliable than that overpriced Toyota my brother got suckered into buying. Needless to say he's never getting a Lexus again. I drive a 1999 Camry which also hasn't been perfect. It sickens me when people hype up these cars so badly.
yeah go with lexus. i have one now with almost 300k miles on it and it still never has problems. audi and bmw start having a lot of expensive problems once they reach 100k miles

Honestly, I would go with the Lexus over the IS350. The ride is smoother and the amount of power/speed that you'll get out of the two of them is nearly identical. If I were you though, I would also check out the BMW 335i, those have a better trade off (in my opinion) as far as driveability and comfort are concerned.
the IS350 is a very common car. i did wat u said, cek out the 335i. i typed bmw 335i on utube and the top video is S5 vs 335i. wow the S5 is awesome! well there's a lot of choice here though;
If you're honestly in the market for these types of cars, then I would go and take each one for a test drive. Honestly, it will boil down to what your preferences are.
Lexus has a very comfortable drive, but its a very dull driving experience. BMW has a harsher ride, but has an excellent driving experience. As far as the best of both worlds, mercedes has both, but excels in neither. Like I said, you'd have to get your priorities straight.
Out of the Audi TT, BMW Z4, and Lexus SC430, the BMW Z4 is the clear winner (if you're talking about a 2009). The handling is superb, the ride quality is manageable, the seats are comfortable (sport package) and the price is reasonable $64k for a nicely equipped sdrive35i. The Lexus SC430 was the most disappointing vehicle yet! Horrible handling, speed, torque, suspension, etc. I loved the car till I drove it. The audi tt honestly is not a fun car to drive... Just test drive them.

The IS 350 will do 0 to 60 in 4.9 (ROAD AND TRACK). The BMW 330 doesn't get anywhere close to that, so no it's not faster. The 335i is faster than the IS 350 and the 330i (0 to 60 in 4.8 stock, with jb3 it's even quicker)

Im from Canada, so the alttidue is differnt, ive Raced one of thes with my 330i and won, plus our small race trac near wherei live my lap times are almost 3 seconds quicker on the slalom
The altitude is an irrelevant variable because it's going to be the same when racing in the same region.
While I don't doubt that you've beaten 350s before, it doesn't change the fact that, launched properly, the IS 350 is much faster than the 330i (straight line acceleration), period.
Max slalom speed for the IS 350 (road and track) is 66.7 MPH while the 330i ranks at 66.6 (road and track), essentially even.
german Tests, says that the BMW 3 series are better than the new Lexus IS. I Like the Lxus, and im driving a IS200. The new IS250 looks much better than the BMW but the Engine isnt better then the BMWengine

Honestly, I would go with the Lexus over the IS350. The ride is smoother and the amount of power/speed that you'll get out of the two of them is nearly identical. If I were you though, I would also check out the BMW 335i, those have a better trade off (in my opinion) as far as driveability and comfort are concerned.

the IS350 is a very common car. i did wat u said, cek out the 335i. i typed bmw 335i on utube and the top video is S5 vs 335i. wow the S5 is awesome! well there's a lot of choice here though;
audi TT, BMW Z4. Lexus SC430.
i just cnt chuz from one of these.

If you're honestly in the market for these types of cars, then I would go and take each one for a test drive. Honestly, it will boil down to what your preferences are.
Lexus has a very comfortable drive, but its a very dull driving experience. BMW has a harsher ride, but has an excellent driving experience. As far as the best of both worlds, mercedes has both, but excels in neither. Like I said, you'd have to get your priorities straight.

Out of the Audi TT, BMW Z4, and Lexus SC430, the BMW Z4 is the clear winner (if you're talking about a 2009). The handling is superb, the ride quality is manageable, the seats are comfortable (sport package) and the price is reasonable $64k for a nicely equipped sdrive35i. The Lexus SC430 was the most disappointing vehicle yet! Horrible handling, speed, torque, suspension, etc. I loved the car till I drove it. The audi tt honestly is not a fun car to drive... Just test drive them.

Jesus christ are you joking me? The 330i is nowhere near as fast as the IS 350.
The IS 350 will do 0 to 60 in 4.9 (ROAD AND TRACK). The BMW 330 doesn't get anywhere close to that, so no it's not faster. The 335i is faster than the IS 350 and the 330i (0 to 60 in 4.8 stock, with jb3 it's even quicker)
But get that 330i shit out of here are you kidding me?
the 330i gets from 0 to 60 in 6.1 (ROAD AND TRACK, same source).

Im from Canada, so the alttidue is differnt, ive Raced one of thes with my 330i and won, plus our small race trac near wherei live my lap times are almost 3 seconds quicker on the slalom

The altitude is an irrelevant variable because it's going to be the same when racing in the same region.
While I don't doubt that you've beaten 350s before, it doesn't change the fact that, launched properly, the IS 350 is much faster than the 330i (straight line acceleration), period.
Max slalom speed for the IS 350 (road and track) is 66.7 MPH while the 330i ranks at 66.6 (road and track), essentially even.

BMW handles better is a fact. I agree Lexus is a good car, but personally I like BMW better. BMW interior is way better from my point of view and it looks more aggressive than lexus to.

Jeremy is so stupid. Its quite the opposite.
Although Mercedes and BMW's have better handling, LEXUS's tend to be more comfortable and refined.
LEXUS's also surprass quality over any of its rivals and it is better value for money.
SO THER YOU HAVE IT.
if you can sacrifise a little steering feedback for excellent refinement go for the LEXUS straight away.
If you want a japanese luxury car that has good handling go for an INFINITI or ACURA.
All three are better than german cars

Yup and to consider that the same year that this IS came out the BMW 3-Series that came out at the same time as the IS, is out selling it. Face it the 3-Series is the better competitor. The 3-Series outsold the A4 and C-Class. BMW just released their 2009 3-Series, they are amazing. Sorry for Lexus, BMW has this category.
