just try talking to some chinese people, for example a guy/girl you usually see working in a shop/pub you maybe suprised how a simple 'ni hao' and showing an intrest in China will get you as far as starting to speak the language, my point being, Chinese people are always the best people to learn chinese from ;)

I studied by myself from books and tried to get as much practice speaking with Chinese people working in my city. last year I got a chance to live in China for 5 months so I think my Chinese should be alot better, But thanks for the comment;)
