  • OH UR JUST STARIN OUT

  • UR DOING GREAT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! JUST ONE ADVICE BRO.. DONT NEED REWIND SONG MANUALLY .. SERATO GIVES YOU CUTE POINTS... U DONT FORCE THE TURNTABLE BY GOING BACKWARDS OR REVERSE ON THE RECORD!

  • so,can I just connect the turntables to a pc(serato scratch) and just select the song I have on the pc instead of using records??

  • do u need a software for turntables

  • well hes not an orignal daft punk

  • I been recently thinking about getting the serato scratch live, can you message me with some input about it, i like the fact that its digital while having so much similarity of vin. .

  • Yo man send me a message of a list of EVERYTHING I need thanx leave message at my channel

  • this shit is fuckin gay

  • how do you you use only one turntable with no mixer

  • Hey do yu have to buy particular turntables to use mp3s on them???

    DJ Crisis

  • @TheDJCrisis

your name has DJ in it and you're asking this? God damn technology and Pauly D have ruined DJing as an artform! Now everyone is a DJ because they saw it on TV or youtube, because they think it's cool. It's hard work and just like any other job.

  • @TheDJCrisis nope..any decent turntable will do..as long as its rca :P

  • you rule, thanks dude :)

  • very old school, kick it to em!!!!

  • Why are your turntables so far apart

  • stanton str8 80's = $250 each + mixer = $650 total ish

  • still never be able to match the tech's.

  • hi my name is Dj josh from Phil. i saw your video on playing that turn table. that's good and amazing I'm a beginner but i consider my self as a deejay I'm practicing my own turn table right now but I'm using the numark not venyl one. but that's good too. hopefully you wont stop posting your video on you tube on how to play the perfect turn table. so that i can get some step on how to play it good

  • niiiice

  • you were way off beat

  • Name of beat please??

  • Yo 'B' good job & thanks for giving folks the instruction. Djings not hard but like you said Practice, practice.

One 'Q' is using Serato hard?

  • dj..spin that shit!!! :)

    nice practice, man!

it would be so cool trying to scratch some records.. :)

    b.boy Shotime

  • well there's only one track on the side most of the time. You'll still see variation in the way the groove reflects his pattern to light, change your eye angle and see the groove on the vinyl you then will see it structure, start, foot & so on..

imagine it on a wavesine form and you got it: ___/\___/\___

else, there are a lot of "markers" hidden in the sound in general. Since pattern programming a measure often on a 4x4 or 2x4 form, you'll get some clue sounds..

    Learn your vinyls

  • how much a set like this cost? used, not new ofc

  • if lets say there is 2 tracks on one side of the record and he wants to play the second track (so it should be toward the bottom half of the record) there will be a small gap maybe about a couple of centimeters of just a flat black line between the 2 tracks. also he could of added a marker maybe like a little sticker or something for him to know where something starts or finishes.

    hope i helped.

  • what is that record ur mixing been try to find it on utube help me out

  • lol......can u dj.

  • yes i can ive been doing it

  • wtf was that haha try attempting a beat juggle then you'll be ok or a clean mix haha

  • Great Video :)

but argg i need that tune! i love it.

anyone know where i can get it?

  • oh my god you do that for 5 minutes?!?!? Bet you rock the crowd don't you?

  • I like this video !

  • Don't Serato shit up!!

  • lol you must be famous ... :)peace

  • what mixer were you using?

  • lol your headphones are backwards

  • Idea:

Post examples of the different drills that newby DJs can use to practice and _tag_ them with dj drill. :)

  • nice

  • Just a little hint try and place markers on yoru records it helps with beat juggling by the way what tune is that?

  • 1971 by Freddy Fresh

I do mark some of my vinyl, but Serato isn't consistant with start points from song to song

  • Really? Mines are marked an I seem to be able to match them fine specially when using doubles maybe we can bounce some ideas back & forth to help each other out

  • Hmm wonder why yours works and mine does not. I actually marked thoes once but like I said the start point isn't consistant. Have you looked at any of my new videos? I have more practice sessions.

  • Freddy Fresh I thought it was that. I am in the process of checking the a few more of your vids. Im a big record counter so I rarely use headphones when beat juggling I like what you've done with with this track though keep up the good work

  • Yeah Freddy keeps in touch with me and sends me his new releases when they come out. Talk about a nice guy! Haven't heard from him in a few months. I should drop him a line :)

  • Yeah I have to find out where I can get a copy of that track

  • That one is on the album "Last True Family Man". It's a great album from start to finish. Ebay usually has them for a couple bucks a pop on CD.

  • what's the name of the 12" album that you are playing I got to get that. thanks much.

  • I asked the local DJ guru and he said he has no problems with his Serato marks being consistant. Have you contacted Serato about yours being off?

  • hmm no I haven't.

  • DUDE THE BIRD IS THE WORD

  • a bir bir bird bird bird

  • yeah dude especially a crossfader curve ajustment

  • I think you need a 10 inch mixer and that mignt help your transitions come through better and It might help your reaction time maybe a vestax or a pioneer

  • You should check out some of my new TT practice vids. The last one I did was 3.5.

Things have changed quite a bit in the gear dept.

  • I like your style ^-^ Nice choice and result of your turntablism! I think nowadays a lot of turtablism DJ's are missing style because they are obsessed by technique.

  • Oh hell, this is just a little practice. Thanks for commenting. It reminds me... I need to practice some more. HA!

  • do you do scratchin alot ? or you usually do jugglin and mixing ?

  • I don't do much scratching. Most of the time I just do straight mixes. This is why I do these little drills occasionaly to attempt to improve my skills. Thanks for watching!

  • Are you new to DJing or have you been doing this for a longer period of time?

  • I've been a DJ for most of my life, but turntablism isn't something I've had the opprotunity to work on with any consistancy until recently.

  • WOW, 19" mixer.. lol. the decks are almost a week apart!

  • Thanks Brian,

I have seen u have your laptop. Maybe you could tell us how do you use it interfacin with the turntable or when you are mixing.

    Cheers

    raffa

    :O)

  • I'm using Serato Scratch Live. I've got a few videos of it up if you search a bit.

  • i want Technics!!

  • The secret is that Technics 1200s will not help your mixing skills. Some of the best DJ's on Vinyl I've seen have garbage plastic missmatched turntables with inaccurate pitch controls. Keep on keepin' on with whatever you are using and practice practice practice!

  • yea since i dont have any money right now thats what imana do....i got a small gig by the way, i may need a bit of help from you. its a mobile gig at a bank for a kids day party...

  • Sure thing. Anything I can do for you, just send me an email or call into the SKYPE show when it's announced. For more info on the SKYPE show, check out one of the latest videos. We're going to do live call-in shows!

  • thats pretty cool man! looking forward!

  • damn good dude!!! briansredd keeping it real!!! johnathan

  • my advice.... since you have Serato. Stick with Rane. if you want effects on that mixer then sell your Serato interface and get TTM57-SL. im about to do just that very soon. come thru and check some of my practice vids.

    best,

    -esc

  • I'm thinking that's a bit too high dollar for me. Perhaps you saw the Serato Clinic I shot about a month ago? If not, check it out. I need to think about flexabiliy. For instance, I can take this to a club and not have to swap out mixers if I just use the little SSL box. I'd also like a mixer that'll do 3 decks.

  • hey Brian, just wanted to say that your doing well.. the best thing you can do is record yourself and either hear or watch what your doing. this will pay off.

getting a smaller type mixer would help some in this area of DJ'ing, but im sure your aware of this.. peace and keep on jammin!

    -esc

  • Yeah that's on my list. The next mixer I buy is going to be something decent so I was sort of taking my time choosing one. Right now, between my DJ desk and this set up with the big mixer it's sort of a "Wax on, Wax Off" situation. HA!

  • Dude you're further along than I thought! I'll be taking lessons from u soon! Go Man Go! Nice vid.

  • I need some guidence on this stuff big time and I know you are way modest when it comes to such things. So... whenever you are ready to school me, let me know :D

  • In addition, I had a moment of jealousy. Looking at your video closely, I thought you had 2 laptops with serato running. I realize now that I'm looking at your mirror. X))

  • Hehe. At 2:39 into your video, you do a DJ Trick move (also here in YouTube.) I was just listening then I caught the move and had to play it back and do a double take. Ur alright. U make me want to make a video of myself too. Maybe we could get better together with Serato. I'm a little further than where you are at, but I'm sure you can catch up. Still practicing and enjoying.

    -DJ PeezoE

  • Yeah absolutely. It seems on Youtube if someone has mastered the turntables, thier name may as well be "DJ Egomaniac" because it's all showing off. No breaking it down. If you've got some drills or techniques to share, I'd love to see them. Watch my progress and I'll watch yours

  • A new room to look at :)

  • You know, that's the same roon actually. I'm just at the bar on the other side of the room.

  • Oh yeah, I can see "the desk" in the background of the first shot. Still to see a bit of new scenery.

  • that looks pretty cool!! i think i will finally get serato this weekend so i need to see some more of this videos... nice mixing btw

  • sounds good, but it also sounds like your crossfader is bleedin a little.

  • Yeah, it is. It's an old mixer.

  • nice

  • dude love it i think you should do a few more of these its a good way of showing off your talent lol practice and enjoy lol sorry had to put that in there :P

  • Very nice Brian, try to do quicker loops when you feel you progress.

  • This is cool Brian!

  • They are just some drills to work on. This way I can follow my progress

  • I think I might do the same :)

  • Go Brian! Its your birthday! Party people!!! ;-D

  • wow cool :D
