F A N T A S T I C piano rendition ! ! ! ! ! The full orchestration is nice, but here, too is great just to attend to the unique strong harmonies & beauties of the basic great piano line . . . & too, good, melodic singing ! Nicely done.
Dude, this is amazing. I favorited it. Although I play the drums, I still think the Piano is the best instrument around. I love the sound that comes out of the piano, and you did an awesome job, thanks!
As a pianist, I must congratulate you 'cause it's not easy at all to play all that stuff while singing. Ah, really nice voice, too! Thanx a lot for the video... :)
Hey stew I've been practicing 1921 from your video here and I've almost got it nailed down. I hope you continue to make these vids with a top-down camera because it makes learning the songs from your videos possible.
Have you ever thought of covering some of Townshend's solo stuff (if you listen to it)? A lot of it is even better than his work with The Who in my opinion.
I have actually. I'd like to do "The Sea Refuses no River" and "Rough Boys." I love those songs. If you think about it, I've already covered a Townshend solo song. I covered Townshend's demo of "New Song", not the "Who" version. I know its the same song, but I think Townshend's solo version is 100 times better. It also has different lyrics. Anway, Thanks for watching and commenting. See ya.
That is a great idea. Ya know, what I really wanna do is record every Who song in existance. I've got a list that I haven't touched in a good month. I have to record bargain. Everyone is waiting on me for that one. After that, I have to do "The song is over." There are so many. I do want to do all of Tommy though. I assure you of that. Thanks for the comment. Talk to you later.
i think pure and easy is probably THE most essential lol
by far my favorite song and im sure it will be one of yours
u need to get some recordings done.....get an mbox and a couple of nice consensers and just play.....with ur skill i dont even think any major mixing would need done
just out of curiosity.......whats your oppinion on the philosophy and believes behind 'Lifehouse'???
LOL... two places. In the movie, and on the movie sound track. I pray that it can't be found anywhere else. You sure as heck won't find it here. Well, that is unless I record a special Oliver Reed edition of this vid. Nah. Thanks for watching and commenting. See ya.
Thank you very much. This is a fun song. Pretty simple, but the chord structure is so creative. Townshend is a genius. Glad you enjoyed my rendition. See ya.
My pleasure. I also love this song. I listened to it quite often as a kid. You should hear Townshend's demo version. Thanks for the comment and for watching the vid. See ya.
Thank you. I'm happy with my singing on this vid, too. Can't say the same for others, but this one fell in my range. Glad you enjoyed. Talk to you later.
Sometimes I think that the lack of form is what makes it possible to capture the essence. My personal methods are wacky, but I'm really comfortable using them. Thanks for for the comment. I'm still waiting for an answer to a question I asked you. That Virginiana Miller song. Any chance I could get an mp3 of that? See ya.
Many poeple have asked for instructional videos, but I'm more of a performer. Not a great teacher. We'll see what happens in the future though. Thanks for watching and commenting.
generationfilms- you only covered half of tommy. it is one of the most significant albums of all time. it was not only the first rock opera, but also one of the first albums to carry a theme. it needs to be in the top 10 albums of the 20th century
I can't agree with you more. Great album, Great rock opera, great everything. It is one of the few albums that I can just sit through in its entirety without getting bored. But generationfilms won't get your comment unless you respond directly to one of his. Thanks for your comment. See ya.

Verry nice! have been watching some of your movies, very very nice! (just remember, Roger Daltrey's voice is far from perfect, so is Pete's guitar playing!) I Agree, you should start working on a band
Thank you. I appreciate the comment. I agree that Daltrey's voice isn't perfect. What he lacks in pitch control, he makes up for in power and expression. He just had a great sounding voice in my opinion. Townshend isn't a flashy Guitarist but he is very unique and tasteful. About a band, I prefer to work solo when I'm playing piano. If I was to be in a band, I would prefer to play drums. Thahks again, see ya.
The lack of a mic hides some of the imperfections of my voice. Its all planned that way... lol. The lack of a band keeps my obsessive perfectionism from affecting others. I just like doing this stuff alone. This may change later. Thanks for watching.
I admit, I am a Who freak. Love it all, but this song is nearly perfect. Finally last year, I sat down and figured it out on the guitar. Now I can't stop playing it. As a warm up or for pleasure. You know, a lot of songs keep up with 4 or 5 chords or harmonies. But this one holds around 20, I believe. But still it is fluid and smooth, but quite a work to learn to play it. But it is just a marvelous song to play as Beatles' Blackbird or the Who's Tatoo.
Thanks for writing a long comment. You should put your rendition on youtube. I'd like to hear it on guitar. I agree that this song is exceptional in its harmonic complexities. It was very fascinating when I sat down to figure it out because the way I remembered it was nowhere near as complex as it actually is. Its an amazing number. I love Tatoo also. I'm looking to do that one some time soon. Thanks for the comment and I'm really glad you liked my version. See ya.
VERY GOOD!!! 'Tommy' is one of my favortie albums of all time. It makes you realize what instrument Pete composed this on. Watching you play it makes me think it was a piano. Though, there is a slight chance is was written on a guitar. It's safe to say that 'Pinball Wizard' was most likely written on a guitar.
Just going off Townshend's original demo of the tune, its a tough call. Both the piano and guitar parts seem to be important in that version, but I'd like to think that it was originally written on piano. I agree with you about "Pinball Wizard." I have to admit, I didn't really care for Elton John's version from the movie. Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed.
Elton John's version isn't bad, but it's no comparision to Pete rocking the acoustic guitar. Again, wacthing you play this song really brings the emotion out, especailly the chord changes.
ithoroughly enjoyed this... damn, i have to learn to play it now
