@ble809 Looks like tung oil. it hardens when it dries. In WW2 they used tung oil and gravel to make runways for the B29 bombers that flew against Japan. All the gravel and tung oil were applied , smoothed and rolled to pack by hand. The Chinese had almost no machinery but the did have thousands and thousands of coolie workers.
