You guys are great. But if condoms don't protect you fully and you were having sex outside of relationship there would be no way of knowing truthfully whether they had an STD. In this video the guy just met the girl after not having seen her in a while so even if he did ask she could lie about it.

I guess the only thing you can do is use a condom and hope for the best in that kinda situation...that or don't have sex.

I am very glad you brought this issue up. It is very true that your partner could easily lie about their past history. This is a very good reason why you should always use a condom when having sex.

You want to ask in an assertive way. Example: "I'm going to the health wellness center today to get tested for HIV, will you come with me and take the test to?" This way you show that you are getting tested because you care about their health as well as protecting yourself.

They may take offense to this, however you have to be assertive. If they are unwilling to take the test, it just shows how much they truly care about you, which means you probably shouldn't be sexually active in the first place.
