It's called parasitic power loss due to the drivetrain. Horsepower ratings from manufacturers are mostly if not always rated at the crankshaft of the engine. The flow of power has to go through the flywheel, clutch assembly, transmission, driveshaft, pinion, ring gear, differential, axels, hubs, and finally the wheels.
noob question. dyno #'s varies from each gear? having it in 5th gear vs. 4th gear, why did the car put more numbers down to the wheels? does it have to do with the gear ratio? if so, having it 1:1 as mentioned below in 5th gear better for dyno's, and again, if so.. why? sorry.. i just want to learn.
Due to the gear ratios and such, different amounts of power are being transferred to the wheels from the engine based on which gear the transmission is in. 3rd<4th<5th in terms of power. I had an old dyno a while back and I gained about 3-4 hp for each gear as I went up to 5th (which is 1:1).
I think, in terms of tuning, 4th gear is easier on the car and they will typically use that while tuning. For the largest number read on the dyno, though, they use 5th. But I could be wrong on that.
is there a blower on it???

is a 60 hp loss common in a rwd? seems like alot of power.
