You went in with certain perceptions, so you found evidence that matched your bias, and most likely edited out any film that didn't match what you believed. Also, you only talked to a few students, which cannot be used to determine the student body as a whole. There were some questions that students should have known but others were slanted towards making them seem totally ignorant.

Abraham Lincoln was indeed a Whig Congressman who became a Republican after the Kansas-Nebraska Act split the party. And the Fed didn't cause the great depression - the gold standard did. Hawtrey and Cassel correctly predicted that restoring the gold standard after the wartime (WWI) demonitazation of gold would cause deflation. It was the Fed tightening the money supply during this spiking demand for gold which caused the great depression. Milton Friedman knew this. It's a pity you don't.

However, I would have expected at least the popularly held reason to have been at least referenced any in college students answer that it was the crash of the stock market. @toucanist most of it is true. us foreign policy has been overtly imperialistic dating back to the 1800s once we overcame our isolationist faze. not just iraq, look at Nicaragua under reagan, just off the top of my head. and nixon and kissingers disposal of popular elected leaders in south america for differing political views was not pretty either. this is just off the top of my head at the glance, but their are unquestionably more that dont exactly paint the us in the best of colors.

@FroYo44 You're absolutely right. However, we also prevented genocides from taking place in Bosnia, East Timor, and northern Iraq. Forty million Koreans live in a free and prosperous country because we sacrificed our soldiers to push back Kim Il Sung's forces back up to the 38th parallel. We have shown support for the only free country in the Middle East despite the economic inconvenience.
I expect that your facts and my facts are taught equally, but that is not the case.

@rockwjz Yes, our history is bloody, as is that of every other nation in the world. It should be taught accurately: this means showing the "selfish, egotistical maneuvers", as well as the generous and altruistic ones. Here, they tend to focus on the former when it comes to US history and on the latter when it comes to that of other countries. That is what I mean when I say "demonizes".

@highvoltage47 well, yes, he does point out that universities are liberal, but the overall message is that universities are misinforming their students, thereby creating mindless drones. I think that that's most evident in the segment when he shadows some students when they're in class. To say that liberals are stupid based off of that logic of yours is a bit of stretch, although he does mock them in many cases. I don't think that the overall message of the video is that "liberals are stupid."
