The disgust response needs work - looks more like curiosity - disgust generally has non-symmetrical eyebrow pattern.

Technology climbs on this - what I'd like to see is the best of all worlds brought together. Actroid DER2's looks, QRIO's absolutely beautiful movement, and the newest facial manipulation hardware and software mixed with cutting edge AI. It's hard if not impossible for one company or research agency to do all of them together. Hopefully they'll begin to cooperate more!

well, we can't give the robot itself a spirit but if it runs off a crystal, like the quartz crystals that make up home computer processors, then the crystal is alive and has spirit & consciousness. emotions can only be simulated. but there def needs to be an off switch or voice command so they dont end up like irobot :)

i mean that rocks are as alive as we are. they do not think (obviously), but they feel, just like animals, plants, & all the earth elements really. the AI is programmed to respond as it *should* feel but as of now doesnt have actual feelings of its own. the thought of an off switch would be to prevent a machine (with strength beyond a human) capable of getting angry from being able to destroy things and kill, as shown in irobot, which is certainly possible when robots get advanced enough to make

a basic building block of matter? we cant prove emotion either, but it's pretty universally accepted. so not all things need scientific data to be understood by the individual. if all matter is alive, then everything feels. there have been extensive tests on plants and they definitely react on an emotional level. a brain is required to think, but not to feel. sub-atomic particles show a lot of similar traits to humans. the Bose-Einstein condensate shows qualities that are spirit-like.

thru time, science will be able to show a lot of this stuff i'm referring to. 1 test to show existence beyond physical would be to test psychic abilities thru a person(s) who is very open and aware in that way. this would show that things can be known & felt w/out the mind/physical. there are probably hundreds of other ways for different aspects of spirit to be tested, but not many scientists or research funding is targeted toward this.
