  • wow nice place and nice car

  • Nice machine... I wish I had your talent's

    Good Luck and Best Regards

PS You gotta check out the French Rocket Man on Utube...

  • nice car

  • or u can buy the RF FM on the site now :D

  • holy sit u good

  • How close did it go to the Commodore ute? hahaha... thought it might have turned into a Fail Vid...

  • You actually replaced the circuit board inside is what you meant. It is very hard to modify an IR electronic circuit, so it will recieve radio waves instead.

  • is that a pontiac g8 sport truck in the back ground!

  • man that looks sweet.

  • That's amazing. Like something out of Bladerunner. Now it just needs a video camera on it. Can it be made quieter?

  • Sweet ass truck . do a vid of the truck!

  • Nice Holden truck!

  • someone needs to build this in Giant Format and use the controller with the Heli-Chair setup to use full size controls and on board camera with virtual video helmut.

  • josh sell me it just the way it is for $350?

  • hey josh do you know roughly when a RF JJ is available..These r awsome flying outdoors puts the icing on the cake ..nice vid and flying : )

  • Thanks.

Not sure when they're releasing it sorry. Shouldn't be long now.

  • how do we remove the battery, without cutting the case that holds the battery?

  • There are four small screws in the corners of the plastic box that hold the top and bottom together. Once opened, The battery just unplugs.

I wouldn't recommend replacing it every flight in succession, the plug probably won't hold up.

    Cheers,

    Josh

  • yea i am gonna replace my battery with a high capacity. because i have the saucer version and it only comes with a 2 cell. so im gonna put a better 2 cell in there. JJ comes with a 3 cell. wish i knew if the saucer can handle the 3 cell. thanks for the info.

  • I wouldn't recommend putting a 3S cell in your Saucer. There's a small chance it would work, and give you a slight greater capacity, but any throttle level over 2/3 would be out of spec of the motors, and probably burn them out. Also, at that size, a 3S is not as energy dense as a 2S.

Also, you're likely to get a reasonable endurance improvement from a slight larger, higher quality 2S cell, over the stock 2S, as they were probably quite cheap cells to make the toy affordable.

    Cheers,

    Josh :)

  • i agree, the 2 cell i will buy to replace it might have a better discharge rate, plus i found a battery to fit the can. btw on the saucer i cannot find the screws your talking about. hmm wonder if jj diferent.

  • Yeah, from the pictures I've seen, the Saucer does look different to the JJ. I was talking about the JJ of course, because I don't have a Saucer yet. They probably couldn't justify the weight of the screws in the Saucer because it is so light weight. You might need to cut it, but nothing a bit of glue won't fix!

    Cheers,

    Josh :)

  • But you could have a 3cell but use a resistor to bring the voltage to the motors down. Then you would have longer flight times without worry about the motors burning out. I used to be into micro rc (micropowerrc) a few years ago. I actually did the first take on the counter rotating copters. Back in 2003. A resistor will work fine though, I'd also suggest buying a very good voltmeter. It will save you alot of heartache.

  • Thanks man,

That's the neighbours car. They're not bad, but I prefer my M3.

    ;)

    Cheers,

    Josh

  • i love that Holden ute!!! :) can't wait when we get those in US:) Nice flying too :)

  • so..u do cars too???

  • If you're refering to me taking my M3 to the track and throwing it around, then yes, I do them too!

    ;)

  • Hey mate ur awesome at this man!!how long u been flying???

  • Hi,

Thanks! I've been flying on and off since building my QTAR in 2005.

    Cheers,

    Josh

  • Have you included in your mod transmitter the posibility of changing from beginner to expert mode? I´d like to know this, although I´m fucked up enough not knowing how to actually do it, because I´m begining to feel the JJ as part of me. Believe me I hover 100% stable for a seconds and then fly it 50 km/h back and forth and then hover back again real neat. That includes the need to change fast from one mode to another. Thanks. I´m the spanish guy again!!

  • Josh, does your mod include the switch from beginner to advanced pilot? I´m the guy from spain again. I´m learning to hover, then fly back and forth at 50 km/h about 5 meters away and then hover back again but real neat. That includes very fast changing from beginner to expert and back to beginner real fast. It´s really cool. Anyways, do you fly always in expert or in beginner? Or you can actually change it in your transmitter? Thanks Josh.

  • Hi Graumauro,

The mode switch is simply equivalent to a dual rates switch on a conventional radio, so as long as the radio you use for the RF mod has dual rates (i.e. has a switch that can reduce the sensitivity of your pitch, roll, and sometimes yaw inputs), then you will have similar capabilities.

    Cheers,

    Josh

  • Awesome videos, read your university papers on QTARs and lunar type funny vehicles, you´re a genius mate! I do not have the ability and knowledge to do the RF mod, but if you ever come to Spain contact me. I´m a dentist, you can have your mouth fixed and help me with the RF mod!!!!

  • Thank you for your compliments!

Hopefully Snelflight will be releasing a drop in RF module soon so you can have some outdoor JJ fun too. Although I'd hate that to ruin my chances of free dental if I find myself in Spain ;) haha.

    Cheers,

    Josh

  • mechanical or electric gyro?? or none at all?

  • Three axis electronic gyros, make it very well damped.

  • Nice work with the RF mod! Any news when the Factory RF JJ will be released? Thanks for posting these Vid's Mano! Happy Flying ~ Horr

  • Its like a freaky little bug!

  • Awesome mate great flying!

I fly with his bigger brother but this is great fun for indoor.
