Star trek has been used to death now, I am a big fan of it but the only way for it to move forwards was Enterprise. Now thats out of the window there isn't really much a new series would do.
Sorry to say, seems like they've canned the TNG universe for TV/movies (maybe it'll carry on in computer games). Anyway, now we'll probably get the alternate universe with the young TOS crew instead.
@ussreliant1 Perhaps, if J.J. Abrams, had this show to the "big shots " at Paramount, we'd may have a brand - new " Star Trek " series, on our hands & HD tv's in 2010 ??? Albeit, with a new cast, maybe ?!! What is so, crazy, about having some of the star trek authors, write more of the screenplays/ story-lines. Look how well, the novels are doing with readers, these years later ???
@bigbad914 If people really want to get technical about it, Both Spock and Scotty made Captain way after Kirk, so he was still senior to them. In World War II, there were several instances in the Imperial Japanese Navy when the XOs and Chief Engineers of heavy cruisers, carriers, and battleships were promoted to Captain; there are also several instances where the Commanding Officers of heavy cruisers, carriers, and battleships were promoted to Rear Admiral 1-3 months before being reassigned.
@TheWoWFAIL I'd tend to agree with that. Plus, I would run the credits differently (in my imaginary world)
Jonathan Frakes as Capt. William T. Riker, Brent Spiner as Cmdr. Data, Levar Burton as Lt. Commander, Gates McFaddin as Cmdr. Beverly Crusher-CMO, Marina Sirtis as Lt. Cmdr Deanna Troi, Ship's Counselor, with Michael Dorn as Lt. Cmdr Worf and Patrick Steward as Rr.Adm. Jean-Luc Picard. (both characters in "with" would have cameo appearances.
@rarobins17 That does sound like a cool idea except for one thing. By the end of "Nemesis" Riker was promoted and preparing to take command of the Titan.
@TheWoWFAIL Riker left to captain the Titan in the end of Nemesis sadly... They'd have to be careful with it, but I think we need a new Trek series, with mostly new characters, onboard the Enterprise E or F. Personally, I'd like to see Data as Captain.
@ben091294 Jonathon Frakes has been trying to get a new Trek show going but CBS isn't terribly keen on the idea, I'd Imagine it would be about the USS Titan. Data died at the end of Nemesis at the behest of Brent Spiner who felt he was no longer capable of portraying Data in Live action (due to having visibly aged) so while the Enterprise E may be mentioned (the F won't enter service until the early 25th century) as being captained by Data, it would not be shown.
@Perion (I know Data died, but B4 basically received all his memories). Anyway, that is sad, that Brent left the role. Anyway, Frakes isn't a half-bad director, and I sincerely hope he succeeds. We need to keep expanding the final frontier, we can't go back (my main problem with ST: Enterprise, but the Abrams movie wasn't horrible). Anyway, CBS would be wise to start a new Trek series now, due to the heightened awareness of the franchise thanks to Abrams.
@ben091294 As I said, the E could be mentioned in the series, even have a communication where we hear Data's voice (but not see his face) and yes, it would be nice if Frakes does succeed. But CBS seems to be of the mind that it was making Trek films and TV series at the same time that doomed the franchise, even though it was just the fact that Nemesis and Enterprise sucked so bad that really killed it.
@ben091294 I imagine the show would also deal with the fallout of the destruction of Romulus and the disappearance of Ambassador Spock, and what it means for the political climate of the quadrant. Along with boldly going of course. Bassically the Abrams films would follow the new timeline, while the new Trek show would follow the "prime" timeline.
@Perion I'd be happy with that. I just don't want to see the "prime reality" disappear in the wake of the new timeline. And yes, political fracturing in the Romulan Star Empire would be a great central plot for a lot of good potential episodes. It would also make an opening for Denise Crosby to come back as Sela (the one enemy we didn't see enough of in TNG). Honestly, Star Trek Online (STO), while not canon and not widely played, actually set a good stage for a new series.
@ben091294 I didn't much like Sela, I mean if they give her character better plots and plans than the kind you would expect Dr.Evil to make then yeah, but from what little we saw of her in TNG left me unimpressed.
@ben091294 STO has a handful of things here and there that would be good, the uniforms for example (not the regular ones but the 200 day Veteran ones) are like a cross between the Wrath of Khan style uniforms and the First Contact style, and would work really well I feel. also I would hope they would keep the Technobable to a minimum, and use real words as much as possible, as well as keep consistent with the ones they make up. It really got out of hand in Voyager.
@Perion Voyager had lots of things that bugged me (characters, technobabble). But they had a good general goal for the series; returning to an exploration-type setting which got lost a bit in DS9 (which I liked better, I'm just saying). But yes, Voyager let their technobabble get the better of them, the other series didn't. And another reason I suggested STO is because the Klingons are at war with the Federation again. I miss that, even though TNG/DS9 produced good Klingon characters.
@ben091294 If they find the political stuff is really starting to take over the show from the exploration, and if Titan becomes successful, then they could easily make a DS9 like spinoff with similar success.
@Luigi84289 True, but throughout all of the first 6 movies, kirk captained the enterprise as admiral basically, in the first 2, and then when he got demoted, he was a captain and spock was a captain, lol it made no sense but we didnt care lol
Oh by the way. Thanks for telling me they didn't. They used MOST of what you hear in this from The Motion Picture. And I know the credits were from the END of The Motion Picture's theme. watch?v=7AiSbxZYViE&feature=related
I guess you only said no because I said series and not movies?
Personally i still would have liked to see Star Trek Titan as a movie or series. Been following the books to a point, would have been interesting to see a predatory lizard as the chief medical officer.
Don't know if you're willing to make a new version, especially since the lacking of Picard's iconic quote, which should have been used even in the movies (they were real long episodes anyway)
Plus, there is a lot of just stars and black space during the names of the crew after the first 3. It should be filled up some more.
They should've continued TNG after Generations, kept First Contact as a movie, then made Insurrection into a 2 parter, then Nemesis could've been the series finale(of course, it would've been done better). This intro's pretty good, could've used Picard's narration, but still good.
*ahem* Space, The Final Frontier. These are the voyagers of the star ship Enterprise. It is continuing mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilisations. To Boldly Go where Noone has gone before! *WOOSH* Dooo dodedoo dodedooooooo....
Very cool - and probably points the way to the fact that instead of putting new CGI into STOS they should have improved the first two seasons of TNG. Quite frankly the original effects from 1987 were pretty dire.
Not bad! Even I wonder sometimes what would happen between "First Contact" and "Insurrection," and between it and "Nemesis." Each of these features has a LOT of time between them--"First Contact" and "Insurrection" are roughly two years apart, and "Insurrection" and "Nemesis" are about four years apart!
To be honest there's comic books and e books for the most part the crew of the enterprise participated in the dominion war however, they also sought out new allies for the federation and now ther's the destiny sereies.
Glad you bring Data back! they really should do more Trek with the TNG cast. Picard as Admiral with Bev his wife, Data as Captain (Spiner still looks hot!)^^, and Riker as caretaker ha ha ha
You should have seemed mine but it was deleted in 2007 though. Mine had Picard's monologue. Well you still can see mine but you have to go on Trek United, their website. I'm a member on there but I don't go there much though. A part of my video is actually on this video. It's the clips before roose5382's TNG title pops up.
the space footage is fron the film star trek nemesis, the next generation crew are the main cast in this film aswell, it is also the film were data dies ( or permently deactivated)
I think they could have pull off new episodes though it would have ultimatly became like simpson where the ideas are the types things that when it was in it prime they wouldn't have done
You have really made the connection to the series. Such as Brents name before the ship appeares from behind and then jumps to warp. 5 Stars. Well done!
plus if there are no families you can't carry on the story with newer characters to make the show entertaining therefore...the nexg generation has ended with that crappy TNG movie "Nemesis" although it does end alot better if you watch the whole extended deleted ending scene MAKES SUCH A BETTER ENDING!! :D
Very cool, but this is my only tweak/opinion. In none of the Trek intros, they always leave out some of the best footage... THE BATTLE SEQUENCES. Especially with that awesome march theme of Jerry Goldsmith, I'd love to see phasers firing, torpedo's being launched, tactical and evasion sequences. Now that intro would be something worth watching. Just my two cents as a life lone Trekker.
How about some annoying nit-picking for you... (All you'll take in good humour I hope.)
* I sincerely doubt they would have made a TV series in full cinematic aspect ratio - for an authentic TV look, use 16:9.
* Worf was promoted to Lt. Commander in Generations - so even if you ignore his departure to DS9 and subsequent promotion to Federation Ambassador and assume he stayed around on the Enterprise - his Lieutanant credit would surely be wrong.
However it could have been episodes set between Insurrection and Nemesis or First Contact and Insurrection or even between Generations and First Contact so they could all have been there.
Star trek has been used to death now, I am a big fan of it but the only way for it to move forwards was Enterprise. Now thats out of the window there isn't really much a new series would do.

Who knows perhaps in this new Alt universe the following will happen:
Picard will not have lost his hair,
Picard will not be French but British seeing as he had a British accent,
Picard kicks Q in the Nuts The first chance he gets lol
and tasha Yar will never have existed in the first place.
Oh and perhaps The Enterprise will be either C or an F

Glad you bring Data back! they really should do more Trek with the TNG cast. Picard as Admiral with Bev his wife, Data as Captain (Spiner still looks hot!)^^, and Riker as caretaker ha ha ha

Good work but i miss "Space the final frontier..."
hucki2 3 years ago 3
You should have seemed mine but it was deleted in 2007 though. Mine had Picard's monologue. Well you still can see mine but you have to go on Trek United, their website. I'm a member on there but I don't go there much though. A part of my video is actually on this video. It's the clips before roose5382's TNG title pops up.

the space footage is fron the film star trek nemesis, the next generation crew are the main cast in this film aswell, it is also the film were data dies ( or permently deactivated)
mattrichard2526 3 years ago
Oh, also, what happened to Picard's monologue?

This sounds like a new recording of the song. Where did you get it?

Nice job. I really miss that show. And I'm glad that you didn't bring Wesley back!

Where did you get the space footage for the opening? I'm really curious 'cause I want to make another TNG intro.

I think they could have pull off new episodes though it would have ultimatly became like simpson where the ideas are the types things that when it was in it prime they wouldn't have done
amazingjourney19 3 years ago
You have really made the connection to the series. Such as Brents name before the ship appeares from behind and then jumps to warp. 5 Stars. Well done!

Wow - really good, wish they would do a 1-off show/miniseries with this!

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E
↓Hope
made in earth
The best antimatter furnace:made in japan
The best warp engine and quantum torpedo:made in U.S.A.
The best outside wall and shield:made in Germany
ytj2008 3 years ago
but it couldn't work because Enterprise-E can't hold innocent families in it equiped with little apartment buildings like Enterprise-D :D
Charmingwizkidclone 3 years ago
plus if there are no families you can't carry on the story with newer characters to make the show entertaining therefore...the nexg generation has ended with that crappy TNG movie "Nemesis" although it does end alot better if you watch the whole extended deleted ending scene MAKES SUCH A BETTER ENDING!! :D

a new one is in 2010

new star trek show??
Dlenehan56 3 years ago
That was really good. Im not complaining about this. It looks very nice and sleak!
Burns476 3 years ago
Very cool, but this is my only tweak/opinion. In none of the Trek intros, they always leave out some of the best footage... THE BATTLE SEQUENCES. Especially with that awesome march theme of Jerry Goldsmith, I'd love to see phasers firing, torpedo's being launched, tactical and evasion sequences. Now that intro would be something worth watching. Just my two cents as a life lone Trekker.
SolidJediKnight 3 years ago
that wouldnt be star trek at all with fireing torpedos. This may come as a shock, but there missions arent always about killing and destroying.
datori93 3 years ago
True, true
It's often exploration and first contact and trying to help and save people
Also dealing with whatever comes their way
Usul573 3 years ago
Quite nice, needs to jump to warp though right before Star Trek appears though
Usul573 3 years ago
How about some annoying nit-picking for you... (All you'll take in good humour I hope.)
* I sincerely doubt they would have made a TV series in full cinematic aspect ratio - for an authentic TV look, use 16:9.
* Worf was promoted to Lt. Commander in Generations - so even if you ignore his departure to DS9 and subsequent promotion to Federation Ambassador and assume he stayed around on the Enterprise - his Lieutanant credit would surely be wrong.
Yes, I'm a nerd. Lovely video! :)

very good 10/10, i'm really impressed with that, and the music has being tweaked to make it newer shall i say or a hybrid of some sort! good work!
defiant8385 3 years ago
The music is in fact the old tng theme from season one.

You missed out Picard's prologue ("These are the voyages...")
Also Worf is a Lt. Commander now.
And it confused me when the camera flew through the clouds of the planet, and then ended up in space again? huh??
Also, no sounds of the ship.
All in all, I give this 3/5. Could be better.
pidlive 3 years ago
it was Good...not the best but it was good....However, Worf was promoted to Lt.Cmdr During Star Trek: Generations

doctorwhoone 4 years ago
cool love it but if it set in the time before startrek 10 then data's name can still appear in it. great work and a job well done.
Notebook09 4 years ago
However it could have been episodes set between Insurrection and Nemesis or First Contact and Insurrection or even between Generations and First Contact so they could all have been there.
