  • In the end making power just comes down to being able to dial in just the right amount of backpressure for the motor and your setup. also, the only 3L v8s they use are for F1 cars or similar super high performance race cars, so essentially what u r saying is only one type of pipe is good for any mustang in general

  • sounds lik u would loose a race...

  • x pipe sounds WAY better

  • I like the glass better everyone has flows lol....just a brand name imo

  • whats the reasoning behind an H-pipe (which runs in a more or less straight line to the rest of the exhaust) not making as much power as an X-pipe, which crosses in a diagonal...? not that the difference between the two would be significant anyhow, but i would be inclined to believe that an X-pipe is the more restrictive.

  • @7gabe0mike7. I honestly don't know, I've heard different stories that the x pipe makes more power I've heard they make the same, idk I know That the x pipe sounds really raspy, I would rather get an h pipe, Its sounds better in my opinion

  • @7gabe0mike7 i thought that the x pipe created a vacuum that can help pull the exhaust gases out .

  • I like the Flows, but i still have a personal passion for the old school glasspacks. Bbut it is really up to each person, the glasspacks will give you a better flow becuase they are a resonater as opposed to a chambered muffler, so you get that little extra hp.

  • @papaown the H pipe does give you horsepower evertime atleast 10hp. only bolt on to gaurantee hp. Read up on it. Plus it not only sounds better deeper and not high pitched.

  • car sounds better then the glasspacks man nice sound it sounds much more agressive so should i get and h pipe or an x pipe man

  • you should definately get an h-pipe, the h=power, the x=rasp

  • Why are you giving advice out if you haven't researched it? I've never once heard of anyone saying an h pipe will make more power, and x pipe almost always does. But that is true that h will sound slightly less raspy, but there's a reason lol.

  • im just going off of what i heard....the h pipe always sounds better than x but its all on personal taste i guess....

  • @papaown The power differences of X vs H pipes depends on the size (seems to be mostly bore) of the engine. A small bore V8 (say 3L and smaller typically) will definitely respond better to an X pipe where as in a larger bore bigger 8 (say 4L and up) there is virtually no difference. In a Large V8 (7+l) the X is restrictive as the pulses are not synched properely and it leads to uneaven pressure waves through the X these situations call for H pipes although it still depends on the engine.
