This would have been a good tip maybe 5+ years ago. Nowadays western toilets are all over Japan. In fact they are like toilet/robot hybrids. I didn't see a single squat toilet in Japan.

For women over 50 who have given birth to big dudes like yourself - knowing where the nearest toilet is can be invaluable. I call it the 3 second rule - from the urge to the drop. They have even let me use the toilets in some American banks - can you imagine?

Yeah, if you have knee problems, squat toilets suck! I don't but I've found the art of toilet squatting too intimidating and the fear of literally pooping my pants all too frightening.

I always head to McD's. Also department stores often have Western toilets and electronic stores like Big Camera.
