Although this "infomercial" tries to show the reality of poverty in the Philippines, the timing and delivery undermines the message. How come it was aired when the 2010 elections is drawing near? How come Mar Roxas is trying to project a good image? By the way, how's his PR team? The ad does the opposite. It shows how "plastic" he is. If i were him, i would stop airing it and change my PR firm. It destroys his image.

Villar as a businessman knows how to use the resources as much as Roxas who is a banker the bottomline is, a rich person who will rule us and who once had been poor may do something better but Roxas who is a technocrat and a visionary may create dozens of economic progress thru economic zones, Shall we go for a rich man who used to be poor, or a technocrat who is a visionary?
I believe Roxas wants to blatantly express his intention to help the poor and get thru to a connection with the poorest or the poor as he knows Manny Villar can use filthy tonnes of money to win the presidency, Villar is a businessman, Roxas is an economist and a banker. when it comes to mar roxas, i'm still on the fence. this ad is a bit cheap, but unfortunately, for the masses, cheap is what sells.
but to give him credit, the part in the ad where he hears the boy out and reacts, it didn't feel like acting to me. it felt real. i don't know if it's just me, but i felt genuine concern radiating from him at that moment.

... anyone who has tried driving a pedicab, will tell you it is difficult to get it going. But with each stride, each push, momentum makes it easier to move forward. And just like Mar's 2004 senatorial bid which needed a little time to catch on, this is hopefully a foreshadowing of his impending 2010 presidential bid - a little slow to start, backed up by an outstanding performance, ending with an impeccable follow-through.

But I'ma take a stand, from somebody who is not politically active, nor am I the perfect example of what a citzen should be, but I am a person who reads the news, hears the news and take rightful judgement with the news. I place my vote for Mr. Roxas. Who has an undeniable forte when it comes to Business and Economics, afterall, it's not their promises that we need. It's their credebility that matters. If we think of it deeply, we are just bound to chose the lesser evil. [:)]
I hope people will stop believing in promises and think of their capabilities instead. If Mar roxas was to battle it out with Manny Villar, it sure will be a difficult election.

If gullability is defined as not an almost four-decade voting behaviour of Filipinos (Aquino, Ramos, Estrada, Arroyo--all but useful oligarchs), then I guess We are not gullible any longer. We will just see...
With PGMA, I did not trust her to keep her promises, but by plainly waiting and witnessing her works, it makes her projects even more grandious, because you are not taking note of her promises, and taking note of her promises would go as well, that you are trying to find her wrongs over her rights, and that is not a good mentality AT ALL.
I think believing in the possibilities of their promises shouldn't be one of our basis for this upcoming 2010 elections anymore. I suggest we try to think of how they could manage the country, regardless if they make promises or not.
i agree with one of the comments here. i think ads exist so that people will have choices. if you think that there is no truth in advertising, do your homework- research on the facts and not simply blow your top especially on matters that affect how this country is being governed.

Although this "infomercial" tries to show the reality of poverty in the Philippines, the timing and delivery undermines the message. How come it was aired when the 2010 elections is drawing near? How come Mar Roxas is trying to project a good image? By the way, how's his PR team? The ad does the opposite. It shows how "plastic" he is. If i were him, i would stop airing it and change my PR firm. It destroys his image.

I believe Roxas wants to blatantly express his intention to help the poor and get thru to a connection with the poorest or the poor as he knows Manny Villar can use filthy tonnes of money to win the presidency, Villar is a businessman, Roxas is an economist and a banker. He is acknowledged as a visionary by the World Econ. Forum. Roxas had initiated the BPO-call center industry and Pres. Arroyo had supported the industry. actually agree ako kay kerstinDRL. maganda siguro kung may matrix tayo nung mga kandidato at ng mga batas na naipasa nila, mga isyu na nalutas nila, mga advocacy na naipaglaban nila, how successful these are.

Eh diba ganun naman talaga ang most of the ad campaigns ng mga politiko? Either masyadong cheesy or for entertainment value lang (pakanta-kanta, pasayaw-sayaw). Imbes na mangako sila nang mangako, mas mabuti pang magpasiklaban sila sa mga NAGAWA nila para sa Pilipinas at sa mamamayang Pilipino!

when it comes to mar roxas, i'm still on the fence. this ad is a bit cheap, but unfortunately, for the masses, cheap is what sells.
but to give him credit, the part in the ad where he hears the boy out and reacts, it didn't feel like acting to me. it felt real. i don't know if it's just me, but i felt genuine concern radiating from him at that moment.
i hope you people can agree or disagree with me on this point. i just want to know. thanks.

... anyone who has tried driving a pedicab, will tell you it is difficult to get it going. But with each stride, each push, momentum makes it easier to move forward. And just like Mar's 2004 senatorial bid which needed a little time to catch on, this is hopefully a foreshadowing of his impending 2010 presidential bid - a little slow to start, backed up by an outstanding performance, ending with an impeccable follow-through.
Tayo, Ngayon, Bukas. Kasama si Mar Roxas, lalaban tayo!

But I'ma take a stand, from somebody who is not politically active, nor am I the perfect example of what a citzen should be, but I am a person who reads the news, hears the news and take rightful judgement with the news. I place my vote for Mr. Roxas. Who has an undeniable forte when it comes to Business and Economics, afterall, it's not their promises that we need. It's their credebility that matters. If we think of it deeply, we are just bound to chose the lesser evil. [:)]

I hope people will stop believing in promises and think of their capabilities instead. If Mar roxas was to battle it out with Manny Villar, it sure will be a difficult election.

exactly the point! filipinos are not as gullible as we were before so mar should stop making promises coz the problem is not that filipinos believe in the promises but making the promises itself.

With PGMA, I did not trust her to keep her promises, but by plainly waiting and witnessing her works, it makes her projects even more grandious, because you are not taking note of her promises, and taking note of her promises would go as well, that you are trying to find her wrongs over her rights, and that is not a good mentality AT ALL.

I think believing in the possibilities of their promises shouldn't be one of our basis for this upcoming 2010 elections anymore. I suggest we try to think of how they could manage the country, regardless if they make promises or not.

i agree with one of the comments here. i think ads exist so that people will have choices. if you think that there is no truth in advertising, do your homework- research on the facts and not simply blow your top especially on matters that affect how this country is being governed.

We have to accept that this is part of a politician's trade... to be known enough so that voters will remember them. What we need to do is be more intelligent in choosing our leaders.
Alamin, ito bang si Roxas e nangurakot? Pakitang tao lang? Hindi magandang ehemplo? Sinungaling? Alamin ang track record at pamumuhay bago maghusga.
