  • cool siren sounds alot better than the one squad51 used .i think the one on 51 was a sound effect it never went into the yelp mode or high lo it had a real federal siren because sometimes the camera would pan down on the dash board you could see it looked like a federal director.

  • Wow... you guys are really into sirens!!!

  • holy crap there still using the trucks thats like the one on emergency :P

  • @bagpipelover7 And I hope they never stop doing so.

Houston FD got a set of pickup based rescue squads that are similar...and with Whelen electronic "growler" sirens to boot!

    Squad 51 still lives!

  • @bagpipelover7

what else would they use? County uses private to do their transport, 19 uses AMR or Schaffer depending on if its La Canada or La Crescenta. No point in them having anything more than a pickup.

  • love the yelp! unitrol?

  • thats kinda of gay in California that they cant use phaser

  • really? do you know why they cant?

  • i dont know they just go l

  • since when

  • idk its been like that i guess since they invented phaser

  • where are you getting this information from though

  • huh, I'm just wondering because I am an EMT and I've used phaser before when approaching intersections or traffic blocks. And I know many firefighter's and engineers who use phaser as well. I don't this your source's are very factual.

  • ITs illegal i know that for a fact you can get in troulbe one of my buddys was a Fire Fighter In Bakersfield and he got fired for using phaser so my facts are straight and i know this for a fact so im not a damn lyer

  • it is illigal for a siren tone in california to go above 250 revs a minute. since phaser is like over 400 i think, it is illigal in cali. the main cali tones are wail, yelp, and y249. (y249 is the faster yelp, used in the begining of this video). they also are not allwoed to use air horn function bc you can stutter it to mkae it go faster then 250 revs a minute..only if u felt like sittin there pushin the button that many times lol..thats why phaser is no legal in california

  • and they also have to have slow wig wag patterns or calming patterns to since they can "make people have seisures" which i find pathetic

  • didnt know this...thanks!

  • No problem

  • You guys are so specific in CA...no metallic fuel containers, no death sentence, and let's not forget the warning on everything from a Pepsi can to baby formula that ways "Warning: May Contain Lead".

  • @zootoo63 i wanna know is how the fuck are they gonna enforce that? do they have a radar gun for telling how fast a siren tone revs??

  • no idea. im canadian lmao, so i have enver talked to any chp officers..or who ever takes cares of enforcing the laws...I just know that s the law..and a siren comes witha manual that tells you how many peaks a minute there are in the tone..The law of the lights and sirens runs under Califoria title 13...this means that for lights it has a steady burn function and sirens have the option of having tones not exceeding 250 things per minute lol (i forget the actual name of sound waves..)

  • hell if i were in Cali, i'd be riding down the street with the Q pinned the whole way...just to be an asshole

  • @zootoo63 DECIBULS

  • What's a phaser?

  • Its the really fast tone on the siren they call them diffrent names Phaser, Priotory, Pericer its just this really fast tone

  • Oh.

  • its also called priority...its a fast sound like a machine gun but in a siren form lol. nypd uses it alot with the fed sig ss2000

  • Oh. OK thanks.

  • Nice looking and sounding squad!

  • what is the second siren called? btw emrgency is the best show ever

  • Yelp

  • Federal touchmaster

  • The style is a "yelp" and the brand of siren module they seem to be using is a federal signal, possibly a touchmaster delta.

  • Its called a yelp theres another one but californa will no allow it in the state

  • Just like Emergency! isent it?

  • Yes

  • The squads sure look differnet then they did in the 70s

  • Cabs=Different. Bodys=Virtually the same

  • A squad in the LA County Fire Dept is a 2 man paramedic unit.

  • How many are there to a squad in California because it looked like there was only two when there should be 3 or 4.
