'The Celtic Fringe: Westminster Elections In Scotland And Wales, 1970-2010, A Complete Record' by Grant Toway is now available on Amazon. At first glance, this book may seem to be primarily a statistical guide to the 1,200+ constituency contests in Scotland and Wales covering the last four decades, but there are also brief comments which accompany each and every result. The author has also compiled a number of appendices as well as providing his own commentary on the unfolding events.
If he/she wish to shield the victims from the damage of unwelcome accusations, the leaker could have kept the names confidential. The press could have done the same. They have not published the name of the homosexual MP alleged to be abusing his Commons' position. Why publish the names of the others?
The names have been published because Downing Street was plotting against the LEADER of the Conservative party and his shadow chancellor, not some barely known back-bencher!
And why should the gay MP be nationally 'outed' over some alleged misdemeanour that may not be true? Does he not have a right to privacy over his sexual preferences?
Oh Mr. Flynn! If you don't think that a man employed by Gordon Brown at a six figure salary is 'part of the Labour Party' then you're either extremely niave, or less than thruthful in your video.
And please don't try to shift the buck by complaining that others must take some blame because they exposed McBrides disgusting plot. That's pathetic!
Yet another mess that Brown is on the periphary of. The stench of slander and lies will also stick to Brown and demean him even further to most thinking people.
If Brown was truly aghast at McBrides actions he would have sacked him, not allowed him to 'resign'.
Even though you don't represent me (I live in Newport East), I believe you are a good MP who is in politics to serve the people and not yourself. Its for that reason I am worried you will lose your seat, and not becuase of your actions but because of Gordan Brow nand his awful cabinet. Do you have this worry too? Also why is it more important than ever to continue? Is it becuase of the economy?

What was the leaker's motive?

And while we're on the subject Mr. Flynn, what is your view on McBrides plot to try and drag a woman's name through the mud?
Call me old-fashioned, but I believe that only the lowest order of scum would try to destroy a womans reputation, and possibly her marriage.
I do hope you agree?

It seems to me that McBride is just one example of how Brown runs No 10 day in and day out
I believe his only crime in Brown's eye is that he got caught
Mr Flynn, you may be an honourable man but your boss is most certainly not and I, along with most of the UK, am sick of him
I look forward to the day that the electorate can kick him and his cabinet into the long grass for a generation
