  • this guy is my uncle he is awsome

  • this blew me away, thanks TED

  • This guy is a great speaker.

  • a love how creationists say that even if evolution is true, it would be absolutely useless. haha their god is useless

  • Dawkins had a clip from the 80s about such a use. It was referenced in one of his books, I believe. It involved an aerofoil being developed through natural selection.

  • The fact how simple legs are is just mind blowing!

  • wow thank you

  • fascinating

  • that was brilliant

  • Apart from everything to do with it...

    Evolution = (Copying) + (Nature)

  • I agree it has nothing to do with evolution exepct for the part where its the driving force behind the multitude of species and the uncountable amount of awnsers to the question"How not to die and get laid?". Isn't copying nature, using evolution's awnsers?

  • google, observed speciation.

provide a better theorie or SMEG

(you can prove something false, dont tempt me)

  • Robert FULL---teeheheheheheeeeee

  • First of all, it's called natural selection not "section". Second of all, natural selection has nothing to do with the second law of thermodynamics nor does it break it. The second law of thermodynamics states that entropy will always increase and is never conserved as you foolishly stated. As organisms(not "orgamis") grow more complicated and organized, they release heat and result in an over all increases in entropy.

  • Spark300c:

No one out there is dumb enough to do experiments proving that the process of increase in entropy can be reversed. The laws of thermodynamics are called "laws" for a reason. They can not be broken. These engineers are trying to get inspirations from nature in order to design better products for mankind.

Don't try to throw random scientific terms together just to sound smart, especially when you have no understandings of them. No offense, you probably won't survive natural selection.

  • won't be mastered for a while... maybe is 2020....

  • Man Summons UFO for the News.

    the videos in my favorites

    weird

  • Excellent presentation

  • i thik it moves its back like that so it can use its movements the most efficient way. when its feet is next to the hands the hind feet propel the animal at its maximum velocity and force; its back legs are thicker then its front legs, so stronger. :D I think.

  • attention whore

  • tell that to Wesley Snipes, who was given the same advice, and then found guilty for not paying taxes.

  • What the hell are you talking about ? What debate Dortha4822 ? Also, you don't have any pictures, much less sexy pictures to look at. Are you insane? Just kidding, I know it's a bot

  • STFU

  • Don't try and advertise your shitty videos, if it's good people will find it, if it sucks then it has no views for a reason. Just for saying, "check mine out for a beautiful one" I am going to NOT check out your video.

  • watch my videos and blog

    surprise

  • wow, some1 is going to great leanghts to post those same pics with multiple accounts. Who the hell is gonna fall for that? Give your email and watever to unlock my sexy album? get a life...

  • Omg, physicist have discovered the VanderWaals Forces not too ling ago, but these goddamn gecko's where using it since their beginning? rofl, they should have been the ones to evolve.

  • amazing

  • oh my god the benefits are endless. i want nike shoes with gecko

  • lol "Just stick to it"

Very fascinating video, such interesting mechanics that govern these creatures' motion!

  • That was /fascinating/. Thank you!

  • Very interesting!!! Awesome post:)

  • tinting the video orange funny guy lol

great section on the gecko with the closeups

  • fuck, what are you 12 ?

the man is talkig about technology and how amasing nature is and all you can say is "fattt as dark vader"

    dark vader ISNT EVEN FAT!!!

  • [Darth], Anikan Skywalker's sith title was Darth Vader, not Dark Vader, MrJa.

  • Good work.

  • Mankind has never and will never create anything as advanced as the human eye. "Under our present state of ignorance" - Charles Darwin

  • you know its funny though, the eye could be better. (which concludes that there is no such thing as inteligent design but I wont go there) Check out a squid's eye, the veins feed the eye from behind, rather than inside. This makes it better (I cant explain to little character count left) Very interesting stuff though.

  • I did not see the whole video, or hear any of it; I thought the topic was a good one.

  • i really enjoyed this, like a constipated old man enjoying a big stinky shit.

  • he sounds like my masseuse

  • thats kool

  • At 185 ratings, this movie has a score of 4.96216216216. Impressive indeed. So simple and functional design - Wonder how long they can take the no-brain robot.

  • wow, inspiring stuff.

  • science and nature, an awesome combination

  • Like a flower, soft, him.

    Achoo!

  • I read an article in National Geographic Magazine about how the gecko feet work. Absolutely fascinating. This video makes it all the more interesting because here you have video of it.

  • so that means God is the sun

  • That would make a lot of sense; the sun exists, the sun can give life but take it away etc.

  • Damn, I'm impressed! I would like to go to an actual showing similar to this. Is there a schedule of these presentations?

  • engineers ROCK the world baby

  • I love Rex!

  • That was extremely inspiring

    And truly worth spreading!

  • some of these stuff are repeated from his previous tok posted in december 2007 like rhex by ted....

  • that was soooooooo good!, cool, interesting, etc

  • Stops in the middle for me and won't play further. I want to see Rex walk around. :(

  • Very cool! ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • where's the end?!

  • Wow, those 21 minutes just flew by.

    Excellent video.

  • that RHex is brilliant. :)

  • brilliant people, really

    5/5

  • This is the best channel I've come across on youtube hands down.

  • Stunning, Nature suprises us again

  • Finally, we'll be able to use the Internet to tell tiny robots to deliver a cold Slushy to our doors.

  • I LOL'ed at 10:40

  • Bring on the robot apocalypse!

  • Video stops at 6:13 here too. I was keen to watch it too :(

  • i can't see it past 1:00 min ! :(

  • I can't watch it past 6:13min., it just freezes and then jumps to 20:55 no matter how much is actually loaded. Please fix this ASAP, this looks really interesting!

  • Well, he does live up to his surname

  • That was amazing. Can't imagine the state that robotics is going to be at in 20 years if more people start doing this sort of thing.

  • good now i know how to think

  • Awesome !!!

  • Hey, that's was amazing!

    Is there another part ?

    I'd really appriciate it

  • Is that all you are capable of seeing in this presentation? If you think before you speak you might look like less of a moron. Thanks!

  • hahah

    owned...

  • great presentation

  • Brilliant video

  • ^^^^^ no you don't......... really.

  • All hail mrkvamaster!!! He rules because he got first comment!
