Shift has a lot of potential, much more realistic feel than before, high fidelity graphics. The engine is unfortunately very badly optimised, esp. in terms of the CPU now that the 2nd patch is out. My Radeon 5870 runs it well now but as soon as any AI are on the track the frame rate drops rapidly. They went in an interesting direction with this but need to follow up with advanced tuning features etc.
This game is god awful. I'm sorry, this mediocre series has been ruined. Forza and Gran Turismo will continue to dominate the market for obvious reasons
Need for speed shift is definetly a genuine game because of the crash scenes where the driver can feel his heart beat, and also where you can see the total wreckage of the car after you finish the race. GREAT GAME. I THINK IT IS WAY BETTER THAN FORZA MOTOR SPORT!!!

I had great expectation about the game,(i just bout it 3hours ago) but the moment i played, i felt like being screwed. there is no way to remap the control. Sorry for xbox player but i'm really used to the X button for the throttle ans square for the brake. How stupid it is to change that and not to allow player to remap?! Really disapointed EA!!! i hope they will fix it by an update or something

Both NFS Shift and GRID are simulators for arcade players, as in, they aim to be racing simulators, but fall into the arcade category of gameplay. As you can see in the gameplay videos of both Shift and GRID, the frame rate was purposely sped up
this is a step closer to a "sim" for an nfs game, but its still considered arcade. do u really think a hit franchise such as NFS would go all out realism and make the game a real simulator? that would not be very appealing to new comers and casual gamers, which has always been the target audience of NFS. if you want a real sim play a game called live for speed. even grid isnt considered a sim, although it is much more realistic than this. in grid u cant just ram a car and drive off as shown here

forza is the best racing game ever. better than nfs midnight club and nfs. you just have to get used to the handling. the amount of cars and customization is so much better than the others
the only thing gran turismo has is a lot of cars and great graphics, but thats not everything, the game is not fun to play. forza 2 has done it better, losts of cars, lots of customization, and full damage models. Gran Turismo Sucks!
if they have "lifelike physics" then why cant you do a burnout in a car even with 800hp. and why when you hit a wall at 150mph you dont even scratch your car! "lifelike" my ass.
GT gives you everything that you would feel in a car, even from the steering bob on bumps, the understeer and oversteer feel, the behavior of the steering when you do certain things, how the car behave. Forza can't do that, they didn't put that much into it. Play it with a controller, you won't get these feelings. Get a Playseat, and at least a G27 racing wheel with shifter & clutch. Forza has none of that feed back. This is why car companies allow GT to do the test drive justice and not Forza.
Do you have any fucking idea how much time and effort goes into video game develpment? You think they can just get ANY car they want with no problem? You think that they just "load" the car into the game willy nilly? You think there isn't a shit load of legal work needed to get a car into the fucking game? You think they don't have to have permission to get a car into the game? You think they can just get 600 cars into the game with the damage modeling for each individual car that easily?
I know that Gran turismo 5 will have over 900 cars with damage. I've been following the series since 2 on PS and I'll get the game when it comes out, but they've been working on it since 2004. That's five fucking years now, and the game won't release for another half year, if even that soon!

I disagree with bloodflow the best racing game is Gran Turismo 5 now we have only demo 70 cars and 6 tracks and it's coming to be over 1000 cars and much tracks

undercover was the worst NFS EVER!! that game sucked soo bad, i tried to want to play it but couldnt! i hope that this one revives the franchise. because they are sucking. drag racing was the only good mode in pro street also.

forza is the best racing game ever. better than nfs midnight club and nfs. you just have to get used to the handling. the amount of cars and customization is so much better than the others

the only thing gran turismo has is a lot of cars and great graphics, but thats not everything, the game is not fun to play. forza 2 has done it better, losts of cars, lots of customization, and full damage models. Gran Turismo Sucks!

GT gives you everything that you would feel in a car, even from the steering bob on bumps, the understeer and oversteer feel, the behavior of the steering when you do certain things, how the car behave. Forza can't do that, they didn't put that much into it. Play it with a controller, you won't get these feelings. Get a Playseat, and at least a G27 racing wheel with shifter & clutch. Forza has none of that feed back. This is why car companies allow GT to do the test drive justice and not Forza.

Well GrandTurismo is the closets you are going to get to a more realstic racing game.
Need for speed lacks in realstic driving...This looks nothing when im out talking my BMW for a run.Its gamplay looks very overreacting.
Did you see the turn he did at 2:25..That's not realistic.(although BMW has the best handling...you are not going to take a turn at 120MPH.
80 cars is a bit too low...GT has over 600,I mean they should have more variety of cars...why always the M3..what about 3,5,7series

Do you have any fucking idea how much time and effort goes into video game develpment? You think they can just get ANY car they want with no problem? You think that they just "load" the car into the game willy nilly? You think there isn't a shit load of legal work needed to get a car into the fucking game? You think they don't have to have permission to get a car into the game? You think they can just get 600 cars into the game with the damage modeling for each individual car that easily?

I know that Gran turismo 5 will have over 900 cars with damage. I've been following the series since 2 on PS and I'll get the game when it comes out, but they've been working on it since 2004. That's five fucking years now, and the game won't release for another half year, if even that soon!
