This is actually very entertaining and very impressive to see her do all of this stuff and sing perfectly, but if I didn't know anything about this aria and opera, I would've thought that this opera was about some little ballerina girl and not Romeo and Juliet. I think a great performance is that in which you give the public an acting that's not only entertaining, but also let's them understand the message of the aria perfectly without the public needing to understand the words.
what's the point in hamming this up badly in a ballet costume doing no proper /crafted or interesting/ witty gags ? she's just prancing on a bike doing nothing in particular -- - this is just cheap and pointless....
She did a pretty good job. That's a very difficult aria and she not only acted, but used a lot of her energy on stage. It does kind of portray the aria since it's a cute little piece that Juliette sings. But, I noticed she didn't sing the words quite right.
She's FANTASTIC!

I love how they integrated La Marseillaise into the aria, so funny !

I'd love to hear her sing Brel!

Is she singing? She is so tired by the end that she has no voice... And that's with a microphone.
But she is fun. A real comic actress not an opera singer

Oh she is !!! You should hear her interpretation of "Sempre Libera", believe it or not, it's in the Sutherland's league !

She has the most beautiful tone in opera, in my humble opinion.

Listen to Mady Mesple sing "Ah! Je Veux Vivre" and "Les Oiseaux dans la Charmille" she has a brilliant timbre and her voice is so clear.

@kashmircustard mady is one of my favourite sopranos, and her doll is one of my favourite... but her je veux vivre is a little to light for me!
