Why no legendaries? Legendaries aren't the same as ubers... Some legendaries are no more powerful than the standard pokemon... and there are some non-legendaries that are ubers (Wobbuffet).
Honestly, seeing this vid on your channel caught me completely off guard. I never would have guessed that you were a pokemon fan, and it really makes me happy ^^.
Um, ubers are, but not legendaries. Example: Suicune and Cresselia are legal in tourneys, but, say, Mewtwo and Palkia aren't. And Wobbuffet is an uber too, so he's not allowed in tourneys.
Wobbuffet has massive health, so unless you can one-shot him, he can simply use Destiny Bond or a counter move and kill you off with ease. In addition, his special ability keeps you from switching out, so if he uses Destiny Bond, you're almost assuredly screwed.
His Ability Traps the Enemy Pokemon and then it can use encore to lock the enemy into their last move, so they can counter it back. If it is a move which doesn't do damage Wobuffet can be switched out and an other Pokemon can come in and set up with moves like Swords Dance or so.
OR, you could just get a sableye or spiritomb, switch out when the enemy switches out, and remove the uber tier altogether, renaming it the "ledgendary/event pokemon tier"!

What about someone who combines the two? I use the pokemon I like (with the exception of my Metagross), but I EV-train them, bred them for movesets and IVs, etc.
I'm not saying you can't put work into it. Hell I spent half an hour trying to catch the perfect Ponyta. But do it because you want to, not because competition demands it.
Close Combat was the wrong attack against Torterrar and that was what got you killed. Attacks of the "Flying" type are super effective against Torterrar.

The classic music was great. I sometimes wish that there was an option to play that old music in the newer fights. I like the new fight songs, but it just isn't as epic as the classic.
Also, I wish that when the Pokemon miss an attack or Detect is used that it was animated. Look pretty cool to see a Pokemon dodge an attack or something like that.
And is it just me, or do the trainers look like they just don't care what is going on?
We played a tournament, but it was more or less just for fun. Some of us treated it a little more competitively than others, but it was still mostly just for fun.
Ah, that explains the Pokemon used and the moves they have. If you don't have a first place prize yet, why not have the second place player make a sandwich for the first place one? XD

Rotom isn't a legend, there's nothing about it aside from the music that plays that hints that it's a legendary.
Congratulations, Nekos. An admirable win, indeed. However, it was a good battle all round, I think; Both my favorite moments were Ponpay's: Staraptor near OHKO of Torterra with Brave Bird, and Haunter trapping Kazaa with Destiny Bond. Both made me cheer.

Congratulations, Nekos. An admirable win, indeed. However, it was a good battle all round, I think; Both my favorite moments were Ponpay's: Staraptor near OHKO of Torterra with Brave Bird, and Haunter trapping Kazaa with Destiny Bond. Both made me cheer.
