The fact that Hitler is seen visiting the CSA also suggests that Germany won the European war: so, no Soviet Union.

This makes sense. If the slaves were not freed, then there would be an acceptance of injustice. Once the slaves were freed, then other groups began to believe that they could be treated as equal. So women got rights thanks to the breaking down of barriers due to the emanicipation.

This was an interesting movie, kind of like a tea party manifesto, but even more extreme. The commercials were hilarious, if racist as all hell, partially because of the fact that they existed. I wish this became a major hit, Fahrenheit 9/11 style, because it was a good movie.

@NodDisciple1 Given (in the film) the Confederate support of Germany, and hence (we suppose) enmity to Britain and France, the unspoken part of this is that the lack of US (er, CS) support in Europe meant that Britain fell as well, and the Soviets were subsequently beaten on the Eastern front. (It was close enough in real life, without the additional Western Wehrmacht divisions.) The fact that Hitler is seen visiting the CSA also suggests that Germany won the European war: so, no Soviet Union.

@sporg No, they state that Germany still lost the war, but only at the heavy cost of the Soviet population which presumably weakened the capacity of the Soviet Union and therefore lead to them becoming a relatively minor power in this timeline.

I can't decide if some of the historical inanities, like widespread slavery surviving mechanized labor, or the Confederates being able to exert control on northern states, is just convenient sweeping under the rug or part of the satire against people who think the south ever had a chance x.x
Though the humor falls flat through parts, this was actually up to History Channel quality, bravo.

This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. After seeing the trailer for this a few years ago I was just automatically offended by even the idea. Some of it you have to laugh at because it's so preposterous. A lot of truths as maybes were stretched in the making of this alternate history, but all in all.. it wasn't too terrible an execution of a satirical work.

Human breeding is expensive and complicate. The negress would not be able to work hard during pregnancy. Breeding would have become business of powerful corporations, and like Monsanto did to the agriculture industry, any slave breeder would have sterilized the product. This means that the only viable definition of "white" means that he or she is immediately descended from, and claims affiliation with, a national group that has historically oppressed non-whites.

This makes sense. If the slaves were not freed, then there would be an acceptance of injustice. Once the slaves were freed, then other groups began to believe that they could be treated as equal. So women got rights thanks to the breaking down of barriers due to the emanicipation.

As a dark skinned minority who more than likely would have never been born had the South won, for it is extremely doubtful my parents would have met at all up North, I think the Condederate flag should always be used for toilet paper and the toilet (#1 and #2). The authors of that book pretty much want the South to be exactly how the above film is, but they try to be discreet about it in their book. Any smart person can read between the lines. That book is filled with carefully hidden racist and homophobic comments, and it pretty much defends slavery, and a lot of other disturbing stuff.
It is indeed a very good thing the South lost.
