Much of store bought coffee is already several months old & stale by the time the can or bag is opened. I used to buy the preground in those vaccum/brick bags but they always seemed to stale faster than canned preground. Then I realized that the vacuum process was actually drawing the oils out of the grounds staling them faster after the bag was opened. Nowadays I roast my own in small batches about 4 times a week. If the coffee tastes bad i can blame only myself.
depends on where your getting your "american coffee". American coffee can be world class or dishwater coffee, just like any place else on the this planet.

what is the time length for a complete roast of about 12kg??
tsefeiwai 2 years ago
@tsefeiwai it depends on several factors, the type and age of the bean also the degree of roast but usually it will take between 12 and 16 minutes.

but why american coffe is not so tasty?
vecchiograndeleone 2 years ago
American coffee is not so tasty because a majority of the goliath ret,.ail grocery sellers sell robusta beans.

Only yesterday I was telling a friend that it would be fun to take a class in coffee roasting and then to buy a small roaster.
