Thanks, Debbie, for the flattering remarks. I wish you all the best with learning the Dobro. A great and fun instructment to play. With your enthusiasm, you should do well. That old song is one of Roy Acuffs. Good luck, Larry Benham, lgbdobro@yahoo.com
Thank you, kind sir. I'm happy that you are learning the Dobro and that my playing might be a little inspiration for you. Best of luck and keep on pickin'. Larry
Thanks so much for the nice comments on "Carry Me Back to the Mountains". I always loved listening to WSM and Roy and the Smoky Mt. Boys and Oz when they played this song. It's an honor to hear from you. Larry
This instrument is called a resophronic guitar. Orignally invented by the Dobroius Brothers in the USA, back in the early 1900's, It is commonly called a "Dobro Guitar."
Today, there are many companies and individual luthiers making their own brand of the resophonic guitar. The Dobro trademark was bought out by the Gibson Co., who still makes the guitar. The instrument I'm playing is an old model 55 , 1930ish Dobro guitar found in an attic in Chicago. Thanks for your comments
Thanks for watching and for the nice remark.
