  • This instrument is called a resophronic guitar. Orignally invented by the Dobroius Brothers in the USA, back in the early 1900's, It is commonly called a "Dobro Guitar."

    Today, there are many companies and individual luthiers making their own brand of the resophonic guitar. The Dobro trademark was bought out by the Gibson Co., who still makes the guitar. The instrument I'm playing is an old model 55 , 1930ish Dobro guitar found in an attic in Chicago. Thanks for your comments
