@Imastud69 These Supra's have 6 speed box's as standard. The gearbox's are stong in them so people tend to leave them in. In this video, the gearbox is synchro and isn't a dog box, so I'm guessing it's still got the standard one. But if you count the gear changes he only goes into 5th (unless he starts in second), so back to your question I was saying that I must have a ridiculously long diff to get 228mph in 5th gear. Standard they normally run to about 185 - 190mph in 6th

@Imastud69 Yeah, to a point. It might not get to the rev limiter in 6th cause the faster you go the more air resistance you get and the more power you need. But it's probably done for faster acceleration as strange as that sounds.

When you have that much power with a standard gearbox, 1st get becomes useless because it will just spin the wheels, making big clouds of burned rubber, but not moving you very far. Plus the torque the engine produces lets you use the longer gearing

@eggfromsywell you forgot two things.... tire size and rpm, this car runs a taller tire with probably 2k more rpm which equates to alot more mph per gear.

it has a sluggish 1st gear because it's meant to hit a high top speed. For example, Ryan Woon's supra wouldnt go any faster than about 195-200mph tops on a drag setup... i've seen a supra hit 245mph on the standing mile
