No, it's genetics and the WILL or (CARE) to live as Layne was working against. -For the truth, refer to the lyrics. 'Dirt' is a prime example. Hopelessness and the loss of inner strength is what I evaluate the core of that album as.

I agree that in many albums there was a recuring theme of lost inocense,lost oportunities and the consiquence of all of those.But i believe that the reason behind his ultimate demise lied in his emotional instability and not dealing with his past traumas wich is what ironicaly made him great and special.Maybe Lane was a sacrifice of love to many lives, I truely think he roamed this earth for something,there was a purpose.
