Rachael killed Kurt. Rachael's voice was stronger and her high notes were more natural than kurt.kurt sounded like tyrese trying to sing a whole sone in falsetto.

What's going to serve you best is learning to use YOUR voice to the best of your ability, rather than trying to force a higher (or lower) range than you achieve naturally. All that you'll wind up doing is being frustrated most of your life and quite possibly damage your vocal cords. Your range might go higher as you get older, but I would say it's not deeply likely - and expecting it to happen will probably just leave you disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I love Rachel, but sometimes she gets on my nerves and steals the spolight a little TOO much. This is DEFINTELY a Kurt song, not so much a Rachel song. In MY opinion, Kurt did a better job, but I still love Rachel and how she sang it too. Both gifted singers. :)

@TristanandIsolt The point of the episode is that he wanted a chance to be able to sing. The fact that he was told, "No, you cannot sing this because you're a guy" is insulting. Had he been given the chance, it would have been different. And you're overlooking something, he -is- hitting those notes, as a countertenor, the fact that they could have said: Yes, a man is singing a woman's role -- that's huge. Same as when Seanna McKenna recently played Richard, in Richard III.

Actually, if you listen... Chris goes higher than the actual note he is supposed to hit BEFORE blowing the note. He can hit it. He just threw it for his dad. Another point earlier in the episode... He did his vocal warm-ups, he went a half-step higher than needed.

What's going to serve you best is learning to use YOUR voice to the best of your ability, rather than trying to force a higher (or lower) range than you achieve naturally. All that you'll wind up doing is being frustrated most of your life and quite possibly damage your vocal cords. Your range might go higher as you get older, but I would say it's not deeply likely - and expecting it to happen will probably just leave you disappointed if it doesn't happen.

@MUFFINxMAST3R I think it's the way he's learned to shape his mouth for singing.. Some people open their mouth really wide and some use their tongue. he uses his lips. and he has goregeous teeth they're just very small.

@xSaikusu He can hit that note look up the song from the glee album. Besides he himself said that he was told he couldn't hit that note when he auditioned for that part in real life, the episode was based on that part of his life.

@ClastrophobicGuy Him failing this note was scripted yes, but it was based on a fact 'cause he can't hit that note. Like I said a couple of times, if he could hit this exact note he failed in this video, his recorded Defying Gravity would contain this note. But it doesn't.

Guys i think its kinda little unfair to say that lea is a better singer than chris because that not a fact its purely based on opinion. Whether who blew the note or not their both amazing singers with completely different styles so i say its based on personal taste and nothing to do with characters.

@LittleHogwartsGirl That was a different note. I'm not bashing on kurt/chris here. I'm just saying the note he misses here is 'cause he can't hit it. Yes, he threw the competition in the show. But he did it however by using a note he just can't reach. In the recorded version you can clearly hear the note he hits there is different. I would of liked to hear him hit it though. Would make his version better in my opinion.

That's why, like I said, his official recorded defying grafity used a different note. One which he could handle.

I love Rachel, but sometimes she gets on my nerves and steals the spolight a little TOO much. This is DEFINTELY a Kurt song, not so much a Rachel song. In MY opinion, Kurt did a better job, but I still love Rachel and how she sang it too. Both gifted singers. :)

@soscc1234 Every once in a while I need to come back and point out how stupid it is to say Kurt should have won. Sure he sings high but he gets those high notes by singing really weak without any substance to his voice. Rachel can belt this and Kurt can't. End of story.

@TristanandIsolt The point of the episode is that he wanted a chance to be able to sing. The fact that he was told, "No, you cannot sing this because you're a guy" is insulting. Had he been given the chance, it would have been different. And you're overlooking something, he -is- hitting those notes, as a countertenor, the fact that they could have said: Yes, a man is singing a woman's role -- that's huge. Same as when Seanna McKenna recently played Richard, in Richard III.

Actually, if you listen... Chris goes higher than the actual note he is supposed to hit BEFORE blowing the note. He can hit it. He just threw it for his dad. Another point earlier in the episode... He did his vocal warm-ups, he went a half-step higher than needed.
